About Mushi
Mushi is a female pure bred French Bulldog (a Frenchie). Born 27th May, 2017, so almost 8 years old. She is the mother of Sushi, also shown in these photos (Mushi is on the right) and also listed on this site. THEY CAN BE ADOPTED TOGETHER OR SEPARATELY.
We are looking for someone who has had experience with this breed, loves the Frenchie and understands their needs.
Anyone who has owned a Frenchie knows that the breed can be susceptible to various health problems, sporting a brachycephalic face and skin wrinkles. They usually bark only when excited, but they do snort and snore, which is part of their appeal.
Mushi must have 24 hour access inside the home, she does spend a lot of the day outside on her day bed with Sushi and seems happy enough snoozing the hours away. She likes to know that her family is close by, and is not suited to being left alone 8 hour a day while her owner goes off to work. Mushi is probably best to be the only dog in the family.
Like most Frenchies, Mushi is even-tempered, a house dog, and thrives on attention. She needs a 10 minute walk twice a day, a yard big enough to run around in, with good, secure fencing and gates (preferably colourbond). Her short coat, sheds twice a year, but is easy to manage and bathing when required. Facial wrinkles should be cleaned regularly. *They must not be walked during the hottest part of the day (between 10am and 3pm) because they can suffer from heat exhaustion.
Mushi is fully vaccinated (as at 29.10.2024) and wormed, Bravecto (6 monthlyTick & Flea Treatment) given 1.11.2024.
We know that the French Bulldog is one of the most popular breeds to own but we do not want any applicants who just want a Frenchie because they are "popular". We will be screening prospective new owner thoroughly and will be looking for the most suitable home for Mushi.
MUSHI IS READY FOR ADOPTION NOW AND IS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING TO HER NEW HOME!!!
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
The first step is email Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. for assessment regarding prospective ownership and pet suitability.
Adoption Application forms must be completed.
A property inspection will be carried out on properties in the Port Macquarie area so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you’ve selected. Proof of home ownership will be required. If renting your home, a letter from the owner’s agent confirming that the pet is allowed will be required.
A 2 week trial period commences on the day of adoption. If, for any reason, the dog is returned to Midcoast Dog Rescue within the trial period, the total adoption fee paid will be refunded.
All Midcoast Dog Rescue animals come desexed, microchipped, vaccinated (up to date), vet checked ,wormed, flea and tick treated.

Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
