About Nico (3.2kg)
Meet gorgeous Nico
He boasts boundless energy & love
He is as cheeky as he is adorable, charismatic and has all the sass chihuahuas possess.
He is down right hilarious and is so much fun to have around.
He absolutely loves being social and will literally love and dance for any person he meets on the street. He is fabulous with children but would best suit a home with children over 5.
Nico has basic obedience. Sit, walking on lead, crate trained and toilet trained. He loves the car and absolutely loves an adventure.
Nico is good with cats however can be a little annoying in his enthusiasm to make friends. So confident cats would best suit.
Nico currently lives in a very busy multi pet household with 7 other dogs, he actually loves this chaos and thrives from routine.
We believe his dog social skills will be better managed if he wasn’t a spoil only child, for this reason aswell as his preference, he would love a home with another k9 companion of any size. He can be bossy at times if stood on but otherwise absolutely loves other dogs.
He is not overly barky but every now and again he does like to shout when over excited on the lead and can suffer a little small man syndrome. If this is something that would worry you, Nico is not the guy for you. If you ignore it and redirect his attention he stops immediately:l.
Nico is a busy little fella and needs a minimum daily walk and absolutely lives for a crazy ping pong zoomie through the paddock or park.
Nico is incredibly smart and a home committed to continuing his training and socialisation is highly desirable. He would learn just about any trick, he has a high food drive and picks things up very quickly. In true chihuahua style, give an inch and he will take a mile.
He is looking for a home who is active, busy, looking for an adventure buddy and someone to love on. Nico would suit someone who is familiar with the breed and will not treat him like a handbag dog.
Nico is truly a fabulous character who will be dearly missed by his foster carer.
There is not enough good things to say about this little guy and any family would be lucky to have him.
Nico requires a home with a yard. Grassed area, shade from sun and rain. He manages at home no problems while his foster carer works.
He is located in Whittlesea for meet and greets.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Nico has a mild underbite.

Adoption details
Our adoption process has 5 stages -
#1 A brief description of your home-
We ask that you send an inquiry with a brief description of the home that you can provide and why you think your home is suitable for the animal you are inquiring about.
Please note: if you do not send a brief description of the home that you can provide, or if your home is not what is suited based on the pets profile we will not continue with the adoption process
#2 Some questions-
You will receive an adoption application form within 24 -48 hours of your inquiry being sent
#3 Photo's of your yard - Applicable for dogs only -
Please provide photos of your yard including sheltered area from sun and rain
#4 Meet & greet - With other dog/s if you have any -
You will receive an email within 72 hours of sending your application in which we will let you know if your application has been successful. We will then organise a meet and greet.
Please keep in mind our rescue team is small. We work full time and have families and pets of our own. Sometimes emails are missed and some animals have over 50+ enquiries. We try our best to get back to everyone as soon as we can.
Our profiles are written with as much information regarding our animals, if you send an enquiry that does not meet the requirements of the particular animal, we may not reply. We ask you to carefully read profiles in full and the requirements for our animals and their new homes.
*PLEASE NOTE*: Not all applications are successful. We aim to match our animals to their perfect homes, sometimes there are many homes suitable but unfortunately only one animal.
Organized MEET AND GREETS do not guarantee the adoption of our of our animals. Eden Ark have the final say in the meet and greet process, If we feel our animal will not suit your family the trial period will not go ahead.
#5 A 7 day trial period -
If your meet is successful we ask that you have everything ready to take your new family member home that day. If this isn't possible, prior arrangement MUST be made - please understand we are not in a position to hold animals for you. Meet and greets are on Saturdays or unless prior arrangement has been made. Please note your meet and greet will be organised the first weekend available from an approved application, we try our best to accommodate but again we can not hold animals.
Adoption fee must be paid in cash or instant transfer on the day if your meet and greet is successful to start your 7 day trial period.
Once your 7 day trial period is complete,
Welcome to the Eden Ark Family!
