√ child friendly.
√ dog friendly.
? untested with cats.
Brian is a placid, gentle, friendly, easy going, loyal, affectionate smoocher who snores and snorts! (It's delightful)
Brian currently lives with one other dog that is a Staffy X Mastiff – Mason, a very similar size to Brian. Brian pushes his way in front if Mason is getting attention, and sometimes Brian even likes to sit on Mason! They get on quite well and there has never been any serious issues between them.
Brian happily plays outside for short intervals but is not one to exercise that much as he seems to be the first dog to tire out with their play time and zoomies. He's just happy to lay around and get lots of attention and belly rubs etc. Because he is happy to be inside a lot, he probably wouldn’t need much of a big yard, so long as he gets his walks!
Brian is quite good on the leash and often looks back at you to check in. He does pull quite bit if excited about another dog he sees, but all in all he's pretty easy to walk, which he loves. He snorts with excitement when you get his harness ready. He always snorts when excited or happy about anything, which is really cute.
He is not aggressive or reactive at all with other dogs. The most he has done is grizzle a bit if passing dogs that are fenced and barking a lot at him.
Brian has good recall and is just happy to follow you around and be by your side.
He sleeps inside on his bed, although he does try the humans’ bed when no one is looking.
There are no cats or chickens at his foster home, so he is untested with these animals. There are also no kids at his foster home, but he is not an aggressive dog. He probably would suit older children as he sometimes tends to put all his weight on you (for a attention). So he could be a good family dog as the more humans, the more pats available to him.
Brian has shown no interest in escaping either by digging or jumping. He has proved that he can jump - onto the bed, so I think he would need higher than a low fence. He has not shown any destructive behaviours at all. No digging, jumping fences or chewing up things. He only barks occasionally and is an easy dog to look after!
He does have a special knack of opening doors and letting himself in - just to get to you of course
Like with most dogs, I think it would be ideal if someone is home more often than not so he can enjoy all the love, cuddles and attention.
