About Ishtar
We at Home2Home believe everyone deserves the joy that cat guardianship brings! We love seeing wonderful cats matched with loving adopters, and we don’t want adoption fees to be a barrier to you bringing a loving cat into your heart and home. So if Ishtar sounds like the cat for you, we ask you to nominate your own adoption fee amount. There is no minimum or maximum amount required, and all adoption fees continue to fund PetRescue’s life-saving programs that support pets and people!
Are you a fan of a playful yet gentle companion who can turn any spot in the house into a personal lounge? Well, Ishtar is a playful, friendly cat who fits that description beautifully!
Meet Ishtar, or Ishi as we affectionately call her. This lovely lady has a knack for making every moment special with her warm, loving presence. She’s the type who’ll follow you from room to room with grace and sit beside you on the lounge like a little shadow. But don’t let her gentle demeanour fool you—she’s got a playful streak and a love for fun.
Ishtar is a low-maintenance kitty who’s just as happy napping on her cat tree by the window as she is playing with her favourite spring toys. Her enthusiasm for cat treats is unmatched, and she has a particular fondness for cardboard boxes—just wait until you see her delight in these simple pleasures!
One of her endearing quirks is her love for "the drum"—a gentle tapping massage on her lower back that she absolutely adores. It’s a special ritual that makes her purr like a motor and adds a unique touch to her affectionate nature.
Ishtar’s enthusiasm for mealtime is truly something to behold! She enjoys her food so much that she tends to eat quickly, so she has been given larger biscuits to make her dining experience a bit more engaging. It’s just her way of adding a dash of fun to every meal!
This calm and independent soul thrives in an indoor-only environment where she can enjoy a peaceful life. She’s purr-fectly content to be next to you rather than on top of you, and her soft, rumbling purrs are sure to soothe and comfort. In the summer, she’ll be your personal gecko-watching buddy, and in the cooler months, she might just curl up beside you for some extra warmth and affection.
Ishtar would be delighted to be the only pet in a home where she can truly shine. If you’re someone who appreciates a loyal and loving companion who’s always ready to follow you around and keep you company, then Ishtar could be the one for you. She’s got a heart full of love to give and is eager to find her special home.
So, if you’re looking for a furry friend who’ll be by your side, share moments of quiet joy, and maybe even snuggle in bed with you, Ishtar is ready to meet you! She’s got so much love to offer and is excited to become a cherished part of your life.
Ishtar is located in Coorparoo, QLD, 4151
Medical notes
Ishtar contracted cat flu earlier in her life, and she had a mild flare-up as recently as 2023, which caused her to have a nasal discharge and some fatigue. However, this doesn’t hold her back from living her best life. She continues to enjoy her daily activities and remains as playful and affectionate as ever.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
