About Yang & Harvey
Adoption or Foster Home
Vet checked & cleared for adoption January 2024
Treated with Revolution 12/04/2024
D.O.B: Yang 12/12/2021 Harvey
Yang has settled down now she no longer feels the need to protect Yin who had an unusual heart murmur and Yang hasn't bit at all since the split, she is very chill towards people as well. Due to her sweet nature and fairly calm demeanour around other ferrets, she has accepted Harvey though it was rocky between them at first.
Harvey had a lot of trust issues with people when he first came into care and would shake in absolute fear, this was mostly because he was in severe dental pain. He has teeth missing now so dental health will need to be monitored more than other ferrets and if he keeps chewing enough bone, then further surgeries should be avoidable.
These two ferrets can be like a old married couple at times, with thier mini squabbles over nothing or insignificant little things like one wanting a particular bit of blanket and trying to get the other off of it. Both are quite lazy though it will take Harvey time to trust a new human and if his dental health fails again that could cause him to remember what happened before, becoming fearful of people fast so a good ferret to human bond is essential.
They are on a balanced raw mix that is fed in the evening and of a weekend they get bone or whole prey to help aid in dental health, the raw mix contains:
1.25kg chicken carcass mince
250g chicken necks or wing tips or quail necks
250g beef chunks
250g roo chunks
375g heart
63g Tripe
63g Fish
63g Kidney

Medical notes
Harvey has had dental work done before coming into care and had to have emergency dental work to remove teeth once in care. There is no ongoing issues, however his dental health will need to be monitored and bone intake kept up.
Adoption details
Please do not ask for a intact rescue as refusal often offends and it's in the best interest of the companion pet they have this done first, exceptions will only be made for those well known by the rescue. There is a adoption form to fill out and a picture of the cage is required, they need a cage so they can have a place specifically thier own
All ferrets adopted out are required to be kept on a balanced raw diet, they will smell worse on a incorrect diet as it messes with thier systems and due to not having a caecum they cannot digest plant or vegetable matter. Full balanced raw diet and the vet trips they may need, along with the initial cost of cage or items can be a little pricey.
Phone calls may be made to talk in person about adoption or to offer advice about the crazy wonderful characters in care and you will need to have rental approval if in rental, as sadly small companion pets are classed as livestock so not protected by the companion animals act.
