Meet Mini, a lovely, sweet & independent girl whose ready to take on the world…
About: Mini is an independent girl with a friendly, happy & outgoing nature. She is confident, curious, and excited about life. A playful & social dog who is ready for her next adventure. Mini is also very affectionate with ACF staff and anyone she meets. Mini is suitable for first time owners or those with experience and she is also suitable for any household all thanks to her easy-going & adaptable nature.
If you lead an active life, that’s ok! Mini could be the perfect adventure buddy for you! She would love to accompany you to the beach, on hikes & even camp trips.
Ideal Home: Mini is suitable for any property type or dwelling, and yard size is of no concern either, just as long as the yard is fully fenced and secure so that she can play outside safely.
Access to both indoors and outdoors would be a bonus so that Mini can get the best of both worlds & spend time inside with her family.
Family: Mini is open to meeting kids of all ages, she is also compatible for people who work full-time hours.
Furry Friends: During her dog assessment Mini showed that she is social & happy to interact, but her lack of manners may throw off other dogs. She should have gradual interactions with other dogs in a safe setting and social training before she is introduced to any doggo friends.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Mini would go living with or meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Training & Development: Mini would benefit from post-adoption training such as at home training to cover all basic obedience and commands and group classes to up-skill her dog social skills.
With a little extra training & guidance Mini could be the type of dog that you can take to a dog park, dog friendly café or social event.
Mini loves food, and she takes treats gently from your hand. Treats are also a good resource to use when it comes to training and obedience.
Mini kind of knows her name, and she can 'sit' but this is usually by accident & not on command. We are working with her to connect the two...
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: With medium energy needs Mini would benefit from exercise, walks or play time from 20-60mins a day to keep her mind & body happy & healthy.
Mini walks well on a lead but does pull towards points of interest (people, dogs etc), so she is best walked on a martingale & lead. Mini isn’t too interested in toys either as she prefers human interaction and personal play.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
