More than 950 independent rescue groups and shelters across Australia rely on PetRescue’s free support services to help them save the lives of homeless pets every day. We’re here to provide a lifeline in crisis rescue situations and to offer advice and assistance wherever it’s needed most.
Here to respond when rescue needs an extra helping hand
PetRescue’s helpdesk operates seven days a week, responding to email enquiries from rescue groups and shelters seeking technical support with their pet listings, free operational support and assistance with more complex or critical animal rescue cases to help keep homeless pets safe in care and find the right homes faster. In an average month, the helpdesk handles more than 300 email correspondences with rescue groups, shelters and pounds via email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rescue tools and resources
As of October 2016, all new rescue members joining PetRescue receive an introduction to the full suite of free rescue resources and a guide to making the most of their PetRescue membership. The exclusive Members Area also features free advice articles, best practice in adoption programs, and regular updates on the availability of food donations, free interstate flights and in-store adoption events, to name a few.
Our major partners, MARS Petcare and PETstock are committed to supporting PetRescue’s network of rescue members who work tirelessly to rescue and care for pets in need. And one of the ways they can make a difference is through donating millions of dollars worth of short-dated or discontinued products to our member rescue groups and shelters to help reduce the costs of rescue pet care. The PetRescue team works behind the scenes to ensure all active members have the opportunity to take advantage of these regular donations and that the goods are distributed to the right place at the right time for collection.
Pets on the move - FREE flights
Since 2007, Jetpets has partnered with PetRescue to ensure distance is no barrier to successful pet adoption. By coordinating at least three free interstate flights for homeless pets in need every month, together we open up great opportunities to move pets from places of low demand to places of higher demand and give them a better chance of finding happiness and a human to love. Pet promos and makeovers
We know that great photos, profiles and PR get pets adopted. So, for long-termers, seniors and special needs pets that find it harder than most to find a human to love, the PetRescue team offers a free service to revamp their PetRescue profile with a sassy new description and/or create a special feature for a particular pet on our homepage or social media channels. Whenever and wherever possible, we will also arrange for a local professional photographer to snap some gorgeous new photos too. We understand how vital regular and reliable volunteer support is to rescue operations of all sizes, which is why we offer a free volunteer recruitment advice and assistance to all PetRescue members via our rescue helpdesk. Members can request our help with sourcing volunteers for general administration, animal carers, foster carers, profile writers and photographers. Insurance and licensing support
We’ve secured an exclusive public liability insurance deal for PetRescue member groups, through Not For Profit Insurance to ensure all our members are covered for every necessary situation for property, staff, volunteers, foster carers and off-site adoption days. We also offer free advice to help members establish their rescue group as a legal entity and obtain a fundraising license.
