Fred brings love back to Christmas
Christmas; one of the few times in a year where you reflect on your blessings, and the wonderful people in your life.
It was just weeks before Christmas three years ago when Jill and her husband lost their precious dog. Jill still remembers that time clearly, “We didn’t celebrate Christmas that year. We just sat around looking at each other and waiting for the day to be over”.
But in time, when they were ready, Jill found Fred on PetRescue.
“The experience of searching through PetRescue and using the site was very easy and so beneficial, however, I have to say I shed a few tears as it was at times sad seeing so many precious pets in need of loving homes.
“But, it was all worth it as if it was not for PetRescue I would never have found my little man!!”
“I took one look at Fred on PetRescue and said ‘I want him’. I went back again a few times to see his cute face and floppy ears, and his tongue poking out, too cute for me to resist,” recalled Jill.
“The first time we met him, I just fell in love with him, when we left the house of the carer, we wanted him to come home with us, then and there, I knew I had to adopt him, and I am sure he wanted to adopt us too, I could not wait to bring him home.”

“Fred gives me a reason to get out of bed every day. I love to give him cuddles and belly rubs. I could not imagine life without him by my side. Adopting Fred brought us back to life and gave us a reason to be happy again, it was great for us, and now we enjoy celebrating Christmas again, with him.”
Jill already has special plans for Fred’s Christmas.
“This Christmas we hope to spoil Fred with a new bed to help with his arthritis to keep him comfortable. I really look forward to showering him with gifts, but I think it is more fun for me! I just want him to be happy and know he is loved at Christmas.
“I am hoping that this Christmas some of the beautiful pets that are looking for a home get lucky…”
