About Australian Rat Fanciers Society Rescue Service
The Australian Rat Fanciers Society was formed in 1996 our Rescue Service began 2002. Over this time our Rescue have taken in and rehomed over 10,000 rats. All rats that come into our care undergo a basic health check and parasite treatment and receive medical treatment if necessary. Then they are placed with one of our foster carers so their health and personality can be assessed, and to be sure that females are not pregnant, before being offered for adoption. We desex as many rats as we can, and if a rat is undesexed when adopted we offer a owners a rebate if they get the rat desexed. See our website for details.
