Thumping Tails Canine Rescue is a not-for-profit (Charity registration pending) network of people committed to finding and placing animals in homes that not only are a match for the dog, but a match for the people, as a mutual match is what enables a long term relationship between the two.
Our dogs primarily come from private surrenders by owners who, for whatever reason, can no longer keep or care for the animal. Our aim is to re-home animals before they are needing to be left at shelters or considered for euthanasia as catching them early reduces stress on the animal, and the surrendering owner.
All animals are placed in approved volunteer foster care homes, or in a foster arrangement with their surrendering owner.
Before any adoption can proceed, an application form must be completed. A meet and greet is then conducted with all household members including animals already residing in the home. Once an approval is received, an adoption fee is paid and the animal can then be picked up and taken home.
We have a 28 day settling in period. This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances. All adoptions receive a followup visit 3 months after re-homing.
