About Dobermann.Club
We are looking for new homes for our Dobermanns in care.
Our Affiliations:
We are not affiliated with any organisation or association bearing a similar name/s to ours. We are not connected to any other Dobermann rescue groups, whatsoever, nor do we home Dobermanns for free. This would go against every rescue group in Australia’s recommendation, and it is certainly ours.
Our Mission:
To provide a safe space for Dobermanns in need of our care in Australia, for them to heal, grow, learn and enjoy life as it should be, under care and protection. Your information when applying for or discussing a Dobermann is encrypted and limited by access throughout the entire inquiry and adoption process.
Our Mandate:
To protect individual Dobermanns and the breed through responsible and careful rehabilitation practices under the law and within the public's expectations.
In addition, our mandate supports prosecutorial processes when managing abuse cases.
To serve Dobermann homes, with our experience in behavioural issues, diet concerns (including food allergies), fitness and non-veterinary health-related expertise.
What to do IF YOU HEAR OR WITNESS ANIMAL ABUSE;
As members of our society, we must take action and hold to account those whose wilful intent to abuse animals by, withholding medical, shelter or general care necessities constitute mental and physical harm.
It can be a stressful experience hearing about or witnessing animal abuse. If you hear or see animal abuse, use your smartphone to record the abuse as safely as possible for evidence and call the police as soon as possible.
Relay the details of the abuse to the police as clearly and concisely as possible.
Your actions will ensure that animal abuse inspectors have the correct information to investigate and potentially prosecute under new laws.
Our Focus:
We have created successful transition programs for all Dobermanns by aptly and patiently addressing key facets for Dobermanns to feel safe in uncertain times when becoming homeless.
Our focus remains resolute to give them a new vision of life through our kindness and care. Aspects of the Dobermann breed require a thorough understanding of pack structure, specificity in canine pack structure behaviours in all dogs, and most specifically, the bloodlines within the Dobermann clan. Not all Dobermann bloodlines are suitable for all people. It is our experience that our assessment of suitability is precious when assisting homes looking for their next family member.
Additionally, we 'speak' dog body language so each Dobermann can understand their environment quickly, and our own welcoming and caring Dobermanns are vital in helping each new surrender feel more comfortable and safe.
Utilising peer-reviewed expertise to match a Dobermann to a potential home remains integral to our successful process and efforts.
We do not discriminate on where the Dobermanns come from and understand it is not easy to give up a Dobermann if you find life's circumstances demand it.
Our Partners:
We have a solid relationship with reputable and respected Breeders who require assurances that their retired breeding Dobermanns find a perfect home or families in turmoil can rely upon their breeder to assist with a secure and reputable pathway for their Dobermann to find a suitable forever home.
We continue to work successfully with rural and council pounds, other rescue groups, and the RSPCA alongside the court's system, which prosecutes Dobermann and animal abusers. There is no excuse for abuse.
Our foster and care homes offer homeless Dobermanns breed-specific care, including 24/7 around-the-clock medical and in-home care, hydrotherapy, massage therapy, dietetic and nutritional recovery measures and behavioural training. Our scientific and well-researched pack structure mechanisms needed to teach surrendered Dobermanns how to be a Dobermann are well documented through peer-reviewed and are trusted globally by recognised leaders in canine behaviour.
