About Sydney Fox and Dingo Rescue
About us:
Sydney Fox and Dingo Rescue is an entirely volunteer run organisation. We currently provide day-to-day care for 50-70 animals on site at our Southern Highlands Shelter (2.5 hours from Sydney), some are permanent residents, others are waiting to be adopted or undergoing medical care. We are the only dedicated Fox Rescue centre in Australia and one of the only Dingo Rescues. As well as foxes we also assist other persecuted animals that others consider to be "pests" such as rabbits, cats, rats and deer. For 6 years we have provided a safe haven to animals that had no-where else to turn. We have helped save the lives of over a 100 foxes, 80 dingoes, 180 cats, 50 rabbits and many other animals. We’ve helped hundreds of families find the perfect animal companion and hundreds of animals recover, heal and learn to love again. We’ve educated people young and old about animals and the environment and we’ve helped be a voice for animals who didn’t have one of their own. Education and advocacy are key to our program.
Legislative Changes:
As of December 2014 we are no longer able to privately rehome foxes due to legislative changes, we are working to overturn this decision but until then continue to function as a sanctuary and haven for foxes and provide education and resources. We will continue to provide foxes to commercial facilities such as wildlife parks and rehome other animals such as cats and dingoes.
