Get your paws on freebies for rescue pets!
Thanks to some awesome collaborations with our pet-loving partners and supporters, we’re able to organise the distribution of donated pet care goods for rescue pets cared for by our member rescue organisations.
We often get kind offers from local, national and global businesses who express an interest in supporting rescue pets through donating pet care essentials.
These donations can be large - requiring coordination and national distribution to hundreds of rescue groups, shelters and pounds - or they can be smaller and donated directly to local rescue organisations within a specific region.
By leveraging our relationships, partnerships and connections nationwide, our team works to distribute these generous donations to wherever they are needed most.
Who is eligible?
Product donations are open to all active PetRescue rescue member organisations, local community groups supporting pet owners and individual community pet carers in need.
However, due to limited products and logistical support, we can’t guarantee donations to every group that registers their interest.
- Products are allocated based on the following criteria:
- Type of product - where it will have the most impact
- Vulnerable pets that are at risk and have fewer avenues of support within their local community
- Groups who support the broader community and at-risk pets
- Accessibility, delivery hub storage capacity and location restrictions
- Number of pets listed and marked as adopted via PetRescue in the last 12 months
How it works
In order to ensure that the allocation is fair, we have a streamlined application process for distributing product donations.
For every round of donations, an ‘expression of interest’ form will be sent out via email or member alert to the member’s main listed contact on PetRescue. To be eligible for donation(s), your form must be completed within the specified time frame.
Please note - unfortunately not every group will receive a registration form for every donation round. Our team will take into consideration a number of factors, such as the location of the organisation, the amount of donations and type of product available, organisation rehoming stats, etc.
Once we have the details of eligible groups, our team will reach out directly to allocate the donations and facilitate deliveries.
