Precious ~ Lovely Bull Arab X Puppy

Precious is a 12 week old, female, Bull Arab x puppy. She’s inquisitive, energetic and loves to play but she also loves snuggle time and just being with you.

Precious is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. Precious is very affectionate and sociable. She is living with 3 other dogs and a cat and they all play and get along well together.

She's a quick learner, comes when she’s called and sits at the door to go outside to the toilet. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. Precious will grow up to be a medium to large size dog.

It would be a great if you have a friendly, tolerant adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Precious. If you don't have another dog to keep her company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.

Precious needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. She will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).

As Precious is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.

For more information or to meet Precious, please contact her foster mum Jo by emailing jomcfarland23@gmail.com. Precious is in care in the Port Stephens area, NSW (north of Newcastle).

Precious's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Ollie ~ Labrador X

Hi I’m Ollie. I am an 11 month old Labrador cross who my carer thinks is exceptionally handsome!

I love human company and going for walkies! I am learning very quickly to be good on lead but my carer, Claire, would like someone to get a walking harness for me as she says it is better for me.

I am a very good boy, I even know how to sit and shake on command. I am a very smart boy and would like some more training. I am still only young and very eager to learn lots of new things.

Apparently, my best feature is my golden eyes as you can see from my photos!

I currently sleep outside and have family time inside when my carer is home. I would love to be included as part of the family and to be allowed to interact when they are home. I haven’t been tested inside overnight so not sure if I would have any accidents. I would try very hard not too but happy to have some help with this.

I haven’t been around young children or many other dogs before but if you want to meet me to see how I go, I would be happy to meet you.

Please feel free to contact my foster mum, Claire if you have any questions on 0402 675 883 or email claired2509@yahoo.com.au. I live at Waratah West. If you think I could be apart of your loving family, please come and meet me…you will not be disappointed!

Love Ollie

Ollie's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

No photo for Steven ~ Border Collie X

Steven ~ Border Collie X

Meet Steven; a 10-month-old Border Collie X with a lot of energy, character and love to give.

Steven is quite a sweet, loveable dog and he prefers nothing more than being able to be near you. Since coming into care he has been an inside/outside dog; spending sunny days outside and night times inside. He will usually sit at the back door (waiting to be let in) when he’s outside and when inside he’s usually at your feet. He’s not a nuisance inside and will happily lay on his bed or near wherever you are. When it’s bed time and after going outside to the loo, he stays on his bed all night, which is currently on the floor beside our bed.

Steven is quite the bundle of excitement and cheekiness. He is a working breed dog and does have a high energy drive, so he will need an owner or family who will be dedicated to exercising and training him. Steven knows basic commands, and will come when he’s called, but because of his high energy, he gets very excited and this can sometimes overshadow his manners. He is very food driven, so making him work for his meals or using treats for training would be the better way to go in getting results and establishing boundaries. Steven is not a menace or a destructive dog, but he does like to have a little chew at things because he is still a pup, so toys will come in handy. He hasn’t shown any interest in digging and he’s not much of a barker, only barking when new people arrive at the house.

He is currently living with two older dogs - 4yr old Border Collie X Kelpies, male & female and they have certainly taught him a lot, in doggy ways. He also shares the house with our 7yr old daughter and he absolutely adores her and all her friends. Steven just wants to be loved and showered in it, so he’s up for a pat and a cuddle anytime of the day. He also loves chasing and playing with the ball. Be it tennis, soccer or footy; he’s up for it. He loves his walks through the bush as well and whether he’s on or off a lead, Steven is never far from you; more often, than not, he’s at your feet. Off the lead, he will run up ahead maybe 20m and then turn around and come straight back; usually for a quick pat and a “good boy”, never wanting to lose sight of you. Steven has a lot to give and will really make a great companion/family dog. And because he is still young, he has a lot of potential to shine, given what he needs mentally and physically for his breed.

For more information or to meet Steven, please contact his foster carer Olivia on 0488 749 720 or email horvat13@gmail.com. Steven is in foster care in Cessnock, NSW (Hunter Valley) and is available for adoption interstate.

Steven's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Lexi ~ 3yo Cattle X Kelpie Girl

Lexi is a beautiful 3 year old cattle dog x kelpie girl. She is kind, obedient and very loyal.

Lexi is always eager to please those that care for her. She loves going for walks, open spaces and especially loves chasing birds. She is also happy to settle down for a nap in a nice cosy place early in the evening.

Lexi is in excellent health and loves being active. She will need exercising and a good run or long walk every day so would be suited to an active family or a rural environment with good secure fencing. She can be trained easily with food rewards. Lexi is an excellent guard dog too.

Lexi is somewhat shy and likes being around her human rather than a lot of people. She would be better suited to a family with confident children over the age of 13. She has been exposed to other dogs and plays really well with most dogs her own size. We are not sure how she would go with cats or pocket pets.

Lexi is a wonderful girl who will be your best friend for life.

Moggie ~ Staffy X Puppy

My name is Mogwai - my nickname is Moggie and I'm a 6 month old female staffy x puppy. I’m as cute as a button and I have the most amazing perky ears that will make you smile! Everyone who meets me says that I’m totally adorable (if I do say so myself). I love to play with my big foster brother MicMac. I have a very chilled out and relaxed temperament .

I’m quite a shy personality type, so when new people come over I like to wait for my brother MicMacto meet them first and give them the thumbs up before I join in on play time and cuddles. I do love your cuddles once I know you are my friend. My big perky ears and staffy colouring make me look like a little toy bull-terrier – no matter what breed mix is in me there is no denying that I’m a gorgeous little treasure! I enjoy play time and like most puppies I don’t last long before I curl up in a ball with MicMac for a nap to recharge my batteries.

I'll probably be a medium size when I'm fully grown. I'll be better suited to a family with children over 8 years who are confident with medium sized, playful dogs. I'd love a daily walk with you as I enjoy checking out the neighbourhood.

Although I love playing I am also a really solid sleeper and I sleep soundly with my foster brother during the night. My foster mum says I would best suit a furever home with another canine playmate or someone who is home a lot. I need to be allowed inside when my family is home and sleep inside. I am very social and too young to be left alone for long periods of time. I would love to go to puppy-training classes when I’m a little older as they will give me the best start in life. I will need plenty of affection, exercise, and training from my new family.

If you would like to meet me, please contact my foster mum Gabbi on email gabbi.bowers@gmail.com (preferred) or phone 0422 498 497 (outside business hours). I am in foster care near Gosford, NSW (Central Coast). I am not available for adoption interstate.

Mogwai's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Patch ~ 10mo Staffy X Boy

Hi! My name is Patch or you can call me Patchy. I'm a male staffy x puppy, around 10 months old. I'm very affectionate and I give great cuddles.

I sleep inside of a night, the closer to my humans the better. I do have my own bed and blanket that I'm learning to sleep on, but I'll jump in with you if I can get away with it. I'm very agile and can jump quite high so 6ft fences are a must. I’m still a puppy and I like to chew on things so I'll need lots of toys to keep me busy.

I do jump up in excitement sometimes so will benefit from further training but I'm a very quick learner and like to please my humans. Sometimes I get a bit frightened going out walking, but I have been learning with my doggie sister that's it's not that bad out there and I'm sure as my confidence builds I'll love my walks and look forward to them.

I would love another dog of similar size to play with or older children. I can be a little boisterous sometimes as I'm still just learning so I'd be best with confident kids or children over the age of 10 years.

I’m a big, cuddly sook with lots of love to give and I can’t wait to meet you!

For more information or to meet Patch, please contact Donna on 0466 099 426 or email trudgetty@hotmail.com. Patch is located at East Maitland, NSW (near Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.

Patch's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Luna ~ Loving 10mo Bull Arab X Girl

Luna is very smart, she knows how to sit, lay, shake and roll! She loves to learn new things and responds very well to toy and treat rewards. Luna would do very well at training classes. Her favourite things to do are: chasing a ball, going for a swim or a walk and playing with other dogs!

Luna's ideal home would be with an active couple, family or single person where she will get lots of human companionship. She loves to sit by your side and cuddle up to you any chance she gets!

Lovely Lola ~ Staffy X

Hi I'm Lola and I'm a lovely 2.5 year old Staffy X with a smile that spreads from ear to ear. I have a stunning tan coat and a pretty black face with some cute and expressive Shar-Pei style wrinkles on my forehead. I’m a total people dog as I love spending time with my humans. I also enjoy meeting new people and it doesn’t take long for me to show them my affectionate side.

I'm looking for a furever family who will love my staffy antics and quirks. We think I've got Shar-Pei in my breed mix due to my wrinkly face and small ears but mostly I'm a typical staffy "nugget" in looks. I would love a family who will take me for a daily walk or even a light jog to keep me fit and trim. I'm new to walking on lead so I'm still quite strong but with time, routine and consistency I'll improve.

Before coming into foster care I didn't have a lot of positive canine socialisation so I'm best as an only dog. I would thrive in a single dog family where my new fur parents will put time into teaching me how to be part of a family. I'm in care with around 100 other dogs at a boarding lodge - I'm fine walking past most of the other dogs behind the fence but due to my previous neglect I'm best to be separated from other dogs. I am treat focused and will gallop over to you for a treat, I respond well to training and would love an environment where positive training techniques are valued as I have had a bit of a rough start to life.

I've have been in a foster home with an older child and we were good mates. I would suit a couple or single, or maybe a family with older dog-confident kids or teenagers. I would also enjoy a good sized yard (5-6 foot fencing) that I can gallop around in during the day, or just sun myself in. My perfect home will be one where I can come in and out of the house when you are home so that I've got companionship from the people I love best - YOU !

For more information or to meet Lola, please contact Jo on jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com. Lola is in foster care near Morriset, NSW (Central Coast).

Lola's adoption fee is $300 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Farrah ~ Kelpie X Labrador

Introducing the gorgeous Farrah Foster! This beautiful blonde is a Kelpie cross Labrador (we think) and is under 1 year old. Farrah is a tall girl with lots of energy and the biggest smile.

Farrah was rescued from the pound and is going to need an experienced doggie family to give her an express course in all the things she has missed up till now. Adolescent puppy classes will be a must along with good manners training and lots of patience as she learns how to be part of a loving family. Her high energy and goofy antics mean she will not be suitable for children under 10. If all that sounds doable, what you will get in return is a loving and loyal girl who desperately wants to be loved in a home of her own where she can feel safe and secure.

Farrah will need minimum 5ft colorbond fencing, a good size yard to play and lots of regular exercise. She has the potential to be a running companion with a bit of training. She is learning how to be an inside dog at night and would really like to be allowed to sleep inside. She is currently in care with another similar sized dog. She was a bit wary at first but is now very happy to play with her foster sister. It does not appear that anyone has showed her what toys are for but she has shown great potential for food reward training.

Farrah will be desexed and vaccinated whilst in care, so will be available for distance adoption. She is currently located in Port Stephens north of Newcastle. If you would like to apply to adopt Farrah or would like more information, please contact Lauren at hitthesand@hotmail.com.

Farrah's adoption fee is $450 and she will be desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Lilly ~ 3yo Cattledog X Girl

Introducing Lilly, the beautiful Cattledog x girl! Lilly is approximately 3 to 4 years young. Lilly’s favourite activities are chasing a ball, going for a swim and chasing a ball, going for a walk and chasing a ball and going for car rides while thinking about chasing a ball.

Lilly gets along well with other dogs that she meets on her travels and her two companions at home. Lilly loves people, big and little, but she would be better suited for kids 6 years and over. Her ideal home would be with an active person or family, where someone is home most of the time. We are not sure how she would go with cats or pocket pets.

Lilly spends most of her time outside with the company of other dogs. While I am home they like to come inside and spend time with me, but they sleep outside. I would not consider Lilly toilet trained although there have been no accidents. Lilly is intelligent and quick to learn. She will sit and wait for the OK to eat.

Lilly does have some anxiety issues and is on medication (inexpensive). Most of her anxiety comes from other dogs barking - she is not much of a barker herself and needs to be distracted when showing signs of anxiety by clapping your hands and calling her name.

Lilly has a very sweet and gentle nature and has lots of love to give. She is waiting for the right person to give her the loving and caring home that she deserves.

For more information or to meet Lilly, please contact Jill on 0422 124 717 or email jd-marchant@hotmail.com. Lilly is in foster care in Tanilba Bay, NSW (north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.

Fluffy ~ Terrier X Cattle Dog, 1yo Boy

Fluffy is a very loving, playful, 1 year old, scruffy terrier x red cattle dog, medium sized. He loves to play. He is great with children though he does jump and lick when excited so we suggest he goes to a home with children 6 years or older.

Fluffy travels well in the car and behaves very well once buckled in, but does need to be helped in there to start with.

Fluffy is a gentleman who will gladly sit and wait for his food and treats or for you to attach his lead. He does pull slightly but that's only because he is super excited to see the world. He needs someone who doesn’t work full time and is experienced with dogs who is prepared to continue his training.

Fluffy loves to play and run around and would really like to have another dog friend to play with. He would not like being an only dog. He doesn’t like meeting dogs he doesn’t know when out on walks, so a little positive reinforcement training in that area would be useful. We are not sure how he would go with cats or pocket pets.

Ted ~ 3yo Red Kelpie X Boy

Ted is an affectionate 3-year-old red Kelpie cross. He is active and playful but he will drop everything if he thinks he can get a cuddle in. He is full of warmth and love.

As well as being big on cuddles, Ted is a very happy and excitable boy. His stumpy tail seems to allow him to wag it twice as fast, which fits his enthusiastic personality. He loves being silly and having a play. His favourite game is tug of war but he also enjoys playing fetch and being chased around the yard. The inner puppy is still alive within Ted.

Ted is happy being an outside dog, as long as he gets lots of cuddles and attention. Being a Kelpie, he is full of energy and will need to go to an active home that can provide him with lots of playtime and exercise. Ted is also a very smart dog and will need mental stimulation with different games and training.

Ted knows basic commands (sit, stay, lie, give). He is a very clever boy and absolutely loves to learn and will thrive in a home that will continue to teach him. He really enjoys his food and responds well to food reward training as well as attention. He is a very well behaved dog and loves to please.

Possibly as a product of his past, Ted becomes anxious in new settings and meeting other dogs. Ted’s socialisation with other dogs is a work in progress and it currently looks like he would be unsuitable for a home with other dogs. His anxiety around other dogs also means that taking him for walks can be difficult when coming into contact with dogs. It is important that Ted’s future family is understanding of his anxiety and is committed to his ongoing socialisation training.

Ted loves to be around humans and is a great companion. Because of his active nature, he will suit a home with older children. He is best suited to a home without other dogs or cats.

Ted is a delightful dog, with a lot of charm and character and will be an irreplaceable addition to his future home.

For more information or to meet Ted, please contact his foster carer Abby on 0401 794 212 or email abbyttinlin@gmail.com. Ted is in foster care in Tamworth, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Duke ~ 1yo Staffy X

Hi everyone now that I have your attention I would like to introduce myself, I am a one year old staffy dog that was rescued from a pound and put in a foster home to save my life, due to that I have very limited memory of what happen to me before I was saved.
My foster family have called me Duke because they told me that dog was to general, I like my new name however if you don’t like it we can negotiate a change, they told me that I came from Dubbo so I guess that I started as a country dog however I am very happy where I am which only has a small yard so you could say that I am able to adapt to changing surround and circumstance’s fairly quickly and easily. When I arrived for the first few days I had accidents, but me foster family housetrained me very easily. They took me to the Vet for a health check-up, it came back that everything was good however I left two things behind and I am not the dog that I was when I went.
The foster family that I am with let me stay inside with their dog, he has told me during our conversations that he is 16 years old he treats me alright and I like him however, he doesn’t play with me as much as I would like due to his age, he can be annoying when he barks all the time as I hardly ever bark. However, that doesn’t stop me from keeping myself amused with the toys around the house I don’t have a favourite one yet however I am kind of keen on a plastic dumbbell that has a toy in one end. I love going on walks with my foster humans however they have not let me off the leash as they don’t know how I would react and I can remember if it has happen before.
I love the affection that I am showed where I am and I repay that by saying hello to all the humans that visit and I go crazy when from what I have worked out the my foster Mum, Dad and Sister get home from work, shopping or university, I greet them at the door I run around in circles, wag my tail and jump up and down, I am a little confused the family might be trying to stop from jumping they keeping saying down and when I do they give me a treat, hang on they might be trying to change my behaviour as they do it when I do other things as well, they make me sit and wait for my dinner , to which at this point I have no preferences and as I have not had every type of dog food that you could think off as far as I know I have no food allergies, dad always wants me to put my paw in his paw he calls it shaking hands.
I love lying around the house on my belly with my legs on the floor facing backwards the humans call it chicken legs or chicken wings however I find it comfortable and just hanging out on my sisters bed while she does her assessments even trying to do the typing for her, also on the couch watching TV with mum every now and again I accidently lay on the remote and change channels with the remote control. I love sleeping inside on my favourite blanket in the lounge room or on my sister’s bed.
I look forward to starting a new life with a forever family as they will gain respect and loyalty from me for years to come.

As Mya is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.

Harley ~ Cavalier X Cattle

Hello I’m Harley, a 5 year old Cavalier x Red Cattle boy looking for a new home.

I am a very quiet dog with a loving nature, and I want to kiss and hug you when you come home. I know basic commands and am great on a lead. I prefer to walk fast. I love being active and playing with other dogs, and am very friendly. I am also great around cats. I am fine with older kids that are confident around dogs.

I would not be good with really young kids as I don't like to be climbed all over and yelling combined with and hand/arm flapping scare me. My biggest enemy are storms but I'm fine if someone is with me inside or outside during them. My foster mum was told a thunder shirt might help me. Sometimes I get car sick so it is best if I sit on a towel or blanket when travelling.

Currently I am spending my time being outside during the sunny days, and inside at night and on rainy days. I live with a mature couple who work part-time and have no other pets. As I am not a jumper, digger or nuisance barker, I don’t annoy the neighbours. I weigh only 13 kg so I can come in and out through the dog door by myself, as I am fully house-trained. I am not an over-eater, and am quite well-mannered at meal-time.

For further information please contactkathyjones1961@hotmail.com, or text only 0409319877 as calls cannot be taken at work. Harley is in foster care in Lambton (Newcastle), NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Harley's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Heath ~ 4yo Border Collie X

Introducing the very handsome Heath! Heath is a 4 year old Border Collie X.

When Heath came into care he was very timid around people, but good with other dogs. He is currently in foster care with 2 other dogs and gets along well with them.

He is coming out of his shell a little more each day, but is still a little timid when meeting new people and other dogs for the first time. Heath is looking for a family who will be at home with him to give him the reassurance he needs. Heath would love for his furever family to continue his training as he is a very smart dog, he appears to be house trained when we can get him to come inside, but he prefers the security of his kennel at the moment.

Heath loves attention and nothings better than a good scratch. Heath is a very playful dog and loves to toss his toys around

Heath would love to go to a furever home where he has another play mate to keep him company, but it's not essential, so long as you spend lots of time with him.

Heath is quite happy to be outside during the day and sleeps in his kennel at night. Heath would make the perfect addition to any family.

If you're interested in Heath please contact Hayley on 0414 431 604 or email dehakada4@bigpond.com. Heath is located in Cameron Park, NSW (Newcastle area).

Heath's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Gray Gray ~ Rotti X Kelpie

Introducing Gray-Gray - a special needs Rottweiler X boy who is approximately 6 years old and who is eager to meet you. Gray-Gray is full of facial expressions and just like Melbourne he can show you 4 seasons in one day. From big smiles to shyness to melancholy to gazing into your eyes with love and adoration - this gentle soul will be sure to pull at your heartstrings. He is possibly a Rotti x Kelpie mix because he puts his ears up and shows you his happy-go-lucky Kelpie face - he’ll then let his ears go floppy and give you his doe-eyed Rotti smoocher face! You can’t help but fall in love with him.

Gray-Gray was recently released to us from a country pound. He is very underweight and wasn't well looked after prior to his arrival in the pound. He has some scarring on his nose and has tufts of hair missing (possibly from a flea allergy). Despite his rough start in life he loves people and wags his stumpy tail in joy when he realises that you want to be his friend.

Gray-Gray is currently in care at a boarding facility with about 100 other medium to large dogs. He has three new canine playmates that he runs around and plays with during the day. We feel that Gray-Gray may benefit from being in a single dog family as he is such a people-dog that he will thrive with his new family's focus being just on him. He will enjoy re-learning basic training with his family and would do well with advanced training too.

Gray-Gray loves playing ball and will even sort-of bring the ball back (sometimes!). He enjoys getting treats and is picking up quickly that being a good boy gets him praise and reward. He thinks he's a lapdog as he will crawl onto your lap for cuddles and give you a kiss. He would suit a couple with older, dog-experienced teenagers or an active, older couple who will give him a lot of attention and daily exercise.

Gray-Gray would love to have access to a well-fenced grassy yard where he can play ball with you. He will need to be allowed inside with his family when they are home and sleep inside on his own comfy bed. His new family will need to understand he’s had a rough start and will need a helping hand settling into the routine of family life. Also, due to him being so thin, he is looking for a very special family who will give him three home cooked meals a day (eg veggies, rice, sardines, tuna, egg, chicken, red meats) to get him back to a healthy body weight and to bring his dull coat and skin back to life.

If you have a special spot in your heart to help this very special boy then please contact Jo on email jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com or phone 0427 695 104 (after business hours). Gray-Gray is in foster care near Morisset, NSW (Central Coast).

Gray-Gray's adoption fee is $350 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Jasper ~ Red Cattle Dog ~ 5yo Boy

Look at this handsome, purebred, red cattle dog! Please meet Jasper. He is a happy 5 year old boy looking for a new family to love. He is extremely intelligent and thrives on learning new things. He loves to play and has loads of energy so would suit a family that is active. He loves nothing more than play time in the yard with kids. He is always friendly and enthusiastic with the family.

Jasper is already well trained and walks very nicely on lead without pulling. He will sit, stay, and roll over when asked and waits for his dinner. He always sits and waits at the gate and doesn’t dash out of the house or yard.

Jasper has been an outside dog but when he has had the opportunity to be inside, he has never had an accident. We would like Jasper to be part of family life so when someone is home, he would love to be included in family bonding time inside. He currently sleeps outside in his kennel.

Jasper is not a barker. He may occasionally jump up on people when excited but he’ll sit when you ask him and quickly settles down.

Jasper has been an only dog and gets rather anxious around other dogs. He would need to be an only dog and be kept on lead around other dogs when out as he is very uncertain about them. He is quite happy in his own company when left at home with his toys and a bone to chew. Jasper is not good with cats or pocket pets.

Jasper finds wheels (on bikes, prams, scooters, bins, etc) very exciting. His new mum or dad will need be patient and willing to take advice from a positive reinforcement trainer. Jasper comes with the offer of one free private consultation with our trainer to show you what to do.

Jasper is an intelligent and loving boy who would suit an active family, couple or individual. He will be a very loyal and fun companion.

For more information or to meet Jasper, please contact Sharron by phone/text 0423 331 057 or email: sstudley3@bigpond.com. Jasper is in Newcastle, NSW.

Jasper's adoption fee is $300 and he is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Toby ~ Sweet 1yo Cattledog X Boy

This gorgeous boy is Toby – a 12 month old Cattledog x boy. Toby is a very loyal and loving boy who is great with other dogs and also with young kids!

Toby currently lives with children (3yo and 7yo) and knows to be gentle and not pushy with them. He loves to play outside with the kids and our dog. He is good with other dogs and shows no food aggression at all. He loves his people too and will never say no to some attention and cuddles. He can be slightly timid at first then will come out of his shell and be best friends.

Toby is a smart boy who is learning basic obedience. He is treat-motivated and easy to train and he would love to do some more training with you.

Toby is a very active boy and will need regular exercise. It would be good if you have experience with working dog breeds and an active lifestyle. Toby is good on the lead and also has good recall and he loves to go for a long walk or run with you.

Toy is happy to be an outside dog so long as he has a nice sheltered area or back room to sleep in and another dog for company. Toby doesn’t seem to be interested in pet birds, but we are not sure how he would go with cats.

Toby will need a large yard with good fencing (5-6ft colourbond) as he may try to climb out if he gets lonely or bored. He is still a puppy so he would benefit from regular exercise and lots of toys to play with so that he doesn’t get bored and bark or chew things he is not supposed to. Another young and playful dog companion would be best so that he can zoom around the yard and play with them.

Toby is such a sweet boy and has a lot of love to give to his new family.

For more information or to meet Toby, please contact his foster carer Leah on 0417 431 231 (outside of work hours) or email leah_davies@bigpond.com. Toby is located in the Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Toby's adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Heavenly Hirrani Tigerlilly ~ Wolfhound X Puppy

Hi Hi, I’m Heavenly Hirrani Tigerlilly, though you can call me Tigerlilly. I’m 8 months old and I love being a puppy. I’ve been told I’m beautiful, cute, a little crazy and, sometimes, a right royal pain in the you-know-what! But that’s because I’m a puppy and I have lots and lots of energy. I love playing zoomies, tug-of-war, chasing balls, chewing balls and anything to do with food. I just get so excited with life, that I forget my manners sometimes.

My foster mum was told I was a Wolfhound, but she reckons I’m crossed with a tiger, as I have a beautiful coat that is orange with black stripes grrrrrr! I have the face of an angel though and the cutest puppy ears. I’m not very big and will probably only be a medium sized dog.

I currently live with 4 small dogs (which, if I was to be honest, I’m not really a fan of). I like big dogs like me. I like to wrestle with my best mate Samson but he gets tired after a while and I’ve still got a tonne of energy.

My dream home would have a mummy or daddy that would exercise with me every day and also have a doggy that I can play with when my human goes out. I don’t think I would be very happy without a doggy friend at all, plus I need someone to teach me how to grow up to be a well mannered doggy.

My foster mummy says that I’m not silly and while I am very confident, proper training will just make me even betterer.

I am an inside / outside dog. I like to be around my humans when they are home. Truth be known though, I don’t think I would be very good around small children because I just get too excited and may accidentally knock them over.

Although I’m not a jumper at my foster home, adequate fencing will still be required because I am constantly learning and exploring.

I really am very sweet and I think I deserve the love of a good human and, in return, I will be the bestest dog I can be.

If you feel you could provide me with a loving, permanent home, please contact foster mummy Di on 0413 310 791 or via email at di_keenan@y7mail.com. I am in foster care in the Port Stephens, NSW, area.

My adoption fee is $400. I am desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. I’m a bargain!

Shiloh ~ Medium Mixed Breed, 1yo

Shiloh: 12 month old, medium sized, mixed breed. Who could resist that gorgeous face? Beautiful Shiloh is ready to find her forever family to love.

Ideally, it would be a family with kids who want to play chasing with her or maybe playing soccer. Shiloh loves to run but not on a leash, just running around with a mate either dog or people, is how she likes to get her exercise. She's timid at first with other dogs but would be happy to have a sister or brother to keep her company when the family are away. She likes to lay on the sofa and sleep especially when it's cold outside and at night.

If you need security, Shiloh is your girl. She will bark to let you know if somebody is around but she isn't a dog that barks at shadows, so she won't annoy the neighbours. Being a dog with nice manners, she will sit on command and is learning drop and stay. Shiloh’s new family will need to keep going with the training. She is food driven and likes to train, so loves her treats for doing things right and pleasing her humans.

Shiloh is a big girl but she is NOT suitable as a hunting dog. She is lead shy from being mistreated in the past and is too gentle. Such a good dog deserves a good loving family who won't let her down.

With her smooth coat that can easily be cared for with just a bath and the occasional brushing. She is very low maintenance. She would be happy as an only dog given plenty of love, attention and exercise, but wouldn’t mind sharing the love with other dogs in the home.

If you feel you can provide this deserving dog a loving, permanent home, please contact Nora on 0418 402 150 or email dogrescuemudgee@gmail.com. Shiloh is in foster care in Mudgee, NSW.

Shiloh is de-sexed, vaccinated, free of fleas and worms and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.

Diego ~ Husky X Kelpie

Introducing Diego - a lovely 4 year old Siberian Husky x Kelpie boy. Diego is a calm and well-mannered gentleman who has just the right balance of playful energy and chill out time. He loves to sit near you and supervise what you are doing. Diego is looking for his very own fun loving family who are after an obedient companion that they can love and take on family outings.

Diego is great with other dogs, he is in care with over a hundred other dogs. Diego would suit a loving home with another friendly dog or he would also be fine as a single dog as it just means more love for him! As with most arctic breeds he would best suit a home without pocket pets or cats.

Diego is friendly when meeting new people, sometimes he can be a little shy until he is confident in new surroundings. He is best suited to older kids due to his size and mild shyness. He enjoys pats and will happily lap up attention whenever it's offered. He would suit an active semi retiree couple or a family with older children. He may also suit a tradie or person who can take him to work.

Diego can jump most fences in a heartbeat as he's very agile (up to 7 foot). He will explore a little and come back when he's ready. Once he is settled in a new environment he will choose not to jump - his new family will need to ensure he has a roofed enclosure or is kept inside until he can be trained not to jump. Because of his fence jumping skills he would suit a rural property where he isn't near dangerous roads whilst he's taught that home is where the heart is. He would also suit townhouse or apartment living if he's walked every day or has a family where someone works from home. He is a loyal, loving boy and will repay you tenfold with love once you settle him in.

Diego is very smart and would excel at advanced training or dog sports like agility where he can show off his desire to please you.

If you are looking to adopt a gorgeous companion and are willing to put in the training to kerb his fence jumping then Diego would love to hear from you. Please contact Jo on email jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com or 0427 695 104 (after business hours only please). Diego is in foster care near Morisset, (NSW Central Coast) and is not available for interstate adoption.

Rocky ~ 4yo Staffy X

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Meet the gorgeous Rocky, a happy, little 4 year old, male, English Staffy cross. He is friendly, obedient, playful and extremely loving. He is a very affectionate and happy boy who loves human company. He is a cuddly boy who enjoys snuggling up to you on the sofa.

Rocky loves his walks and walks very well on a lead. His lead manners are quite impressive! He has been camping and was a good boy on the trip and around the campsite. He is good in the car; sitting quietly and looking out the window or lying on the seat. He is toilet trained and sleeps inside at night.

Rocky is a very good watch dog and barks to let you know someone is out there but as soon as anyone comes in the door he is very friendly. He loves humans of all sizes and ages and always happily greets any visitors.

He is currently living with a German Shepherd Dog and two little dogs who he gets along well with. However, he must go to a home without cats or other small pets.

Rocky's ideal home would be an active single, couple or family where someone is home most of the time. He would be a great road trip or camping companion for anyone who likes to get out of the city once in a while. Rocky would be equally happy as an only dog or with one other medium sized dog. He has been great with all kids he has met but would probably be a bit too boisterous for very little kids.

Nala ~ Staffy X

This gorgeous girl is Nala and she is a 3 year old American Staffy x. Nala is the most loving, caring girl with a beautiful happy nature. She will not say no to a cuddle or two, free of course! All she ever wants is affection and love. Are you that person to give her this?

Nala is amazing with kids and people. She will spend all day at your feet being a devoted loving dog. In saying this she is happy to spend time outside with a tennis ball and a bone and be very content in the sun. When you return home, she is so happy to see you she tends to jump for joy and run around for a few minutes but does settle down.

Nala generally sleeps inside at the end of a bed but will sleep on her own bed on the floor in a bedroom if you prefer.

Nala has had basic training, she can sit and stay and will come when called. She is completely toilet trained. She loves a walk but will pull on lead so a walking harness is recommended. She is such a smart girl and will respond well to any further training you wish to give her.

Nala has been socialised with other dogs when younger but isn't particularly fond of them so needs to be an only dog. She will bark at another dog while walking but if you distract her and keep going she is fine. She does need help in this area. Slow introductions and further training would be beneficial.

Nala has recently had a slight accident where she broke her carpel ligament but is recovering fine.

Nala would suit a family with children 8 years and above or someone active. She enjoys time with her owners so needs to spend time inside as part of the family. She isn’t good with cats or pocket pets.

Nala is currently located at the Central Coast. if you would like to meet Nala, please contact Sharron on 0423331057 or email: sstudley3@bigpond.com

Nala's adoption fee is $295 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Bella ~ Staffy X Kelpie

Bella is a gorgeous 5 year old Staffy x Kelpie, who is excited to meet everyone, and to go everywhere!

Bella came into care a little heavy, due to not being exercised regularly prior to her previous owner passing away. She still has plenty of energy though and can keep up a fast pace on walks, and is already starting to trim down with regular walks and play time (currently 24kgs). She also loves to fetch balls, chase bubbles, and play tug of war. She would be best suited to an active person or family with older children who can continue to exercise her and play with her daily.

Bella is independent yet affectionate. She loves to stand up or lean against you for a cuddle, and she cannot hide her love of tummy rubs. She knows basic commands and sits and waits for her food. She just wants to please everyone she meets.

Bella is fine with being on her own during the day, so long as she has some toys and shelter. She is not a crier or a nuisance barker, but she will make her very excited noises when she sees you come home.

Bella is very friendly to all humans she has met. She would be fine with older children, but may knock smaller children over in her excitement.

We know she has lived with a canine companion previously, but she has not been socialised in a while.

She is an inside and outside dog currently. She likes to come inside occasionally if people are home, mostly to suss out what’s going on and get a little tummy rub, but then takes herself back outside. Bella is house trained and sleeps inside at night, away from bedrooms on her own bed.

For more information or to meet Bella, please contact her foster carer Maddie on 0432 516 573 or email maddisonbrady95@gmail.com. Bella is in foster care in the Lake Macquarie area, NSW (south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.

Samirah ~ Australian Kelpie X

Samriah is a 3 year old female Australian Kelpie x..Samirah came to us after 80 days in the pound, she absolutely loves other dogs and will definitely need a playmate or a very active human who will spend a lot of time with her.

Samirah is smart, loving playful and cuddly…. actually she demands cuddles, she sits on your lap and sticks her head under your hand. She’s good with kids but will chase them if they run and will jump up on them so maybe older kids would be better.

Samirah is best to be around others as she can be a bit destructive left alone as she gets bored. Samirah is learning well what is expected from her but will need someone who can put in the training time with her. She’s learning on the lead / harness but I don't think she’s ever had one before so it’s a work in progress. Shes just about there with house training, Only an occasional accident now.

Samirah is great in the car, loves a shower and eats whatever she’s given.

She is a very loving girl but will need the right person, someone who will give her loads of affection and have patience until she settles.

For more information or to meet Samirah please contact her foster carer Joy on 0410 733 914 or email joy.was.here@hotmail.com Name is in foster care in Woodrising, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.

Bella loves affection and cuddles BUT also loves to socialising with other dogs, exercising and running around being silly. She really is the best of both worlds. She is an extremely affectionate well behaved little girl. She loves to cuddle or be near you no matter what you are doing, and does not demand your attention, rather she is content just to be with you. She loves going for rides in the car, walks & the beach is definitely a favourite. She loves the water & befriends all the dogs she meets. Her ideal home is one where she can spend a lot of time with people. Or has another dog to play with while owners are at work all day. She wouldn’t cope very well in a house where her owners work really long hours and there isn’t another dog to keep her company. She is a gentle little dog with a lot of love. Her smile and excitement about being with you bring instant happiness. Her only downfall is she really avoids getting her photo taken. ... so her profile pictures don’t do her cuteness justice. Come meet her for yourself and see her beautiful personality shine.

Bella will eat pretty much anything, but she does love having sardines or tuna on her kibble at dinner. Its also really great for her coat and overall health. She is definitely a lover of anything edible and any treat is always received with much excitement and appreciation, however she is slightly overweight and so low fat treats would be best roo tails or raw hide are great treats to keep her entertained for a while without adding to her waistline.

She loves chasing us around the yard or running by our side and is always ridiculously happy wrestling/playing with her foster sisters & doggy friends. She is such a playful social dog that she just loves getting to meet and play with other dogs and her friendly yet submissive nature has meant and can get along with dogs of all sizes and temperaments

Its fairly short but quite thick and unbelievable soft and lovely to touch. Her grooming is very easy and she absolutuely loves being brushed. When she sees me get the brush she comes straight over with a smile and sits and waits. I use a furminator approximately once a fortnight on my dogs to remove the deshedding fur and a bath every few weeks. Like most staffy’s she can be prone to sensitive skin but manage this easily with good food and a gentle soap free shampoo.
Bella can Sit, stay, shake, come a nd she Is good off lead

Bella was loved and cherished by her owners but unfortunately they both went into a nursing home as they were no longer able to care for themselves as they used to and were heartbroken to have to surrender her.

Bella is an amazing sweet little dog with so much love and affection. She doesn't demand attention and quite happily let's other dogs take centre stage. She is great with other dogs, people and also fantastic with children. She unfortunately would not be suitable in a household with cats. She GA been the most well mannered and well behaved dog we have ever had the pleasure of fostering

Lucas ~ Cute Staffy X Puppy

Lucas is a 4 month old, male, Staffy x puppy. He is a very cute and playful boy.

Lucas is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. He has been very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with them all. He's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them.

Lucas will grow up to be a medium size dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.

It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Lucas. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.

Lucas needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).

Lucas's siblings: Nelson, Lucinda, Sissy, Boofy, Sara, Indiana, James and Luca are also available for adoption.

As Lucas is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.

For more information or to meet Lucas, please phone his foster mum Nicky on 0481 750 807 or email foxhurley2012@gmail.com. Lucas is in Cameron Park, NSW (Newcastle area).

Lucas's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

No photo for Ziba ~ Beautiful Staffy Puppy

Ziba ~ Beautiful Staffy Puppy

Hello! My name is Ziba which means beautiful, and Yes, I am absolutely pretty! I am a 12 week old staffy puppy with a beautiful white and caramel coat.

I have been with my foster mummy and daddy for 2 weeks now and have already integrated myself into the family with them, their little daughter of 3 years, the older foster doggie sister, even the cat! Although sometimes I do like to chase the cat because she slaps me, it is so much fun and now we are good friends and sit and watch TV together!

I am very playful but at the same time very gentle, so when I play with my little human foster sister I never bite her or scratch her. I will try to gently chew on her hands and lick her little face which makes her laugh and giggle for minutes every day. I am very good at listening to commands from her and I sit, stay or come when she commands me to do so.

Bear in mind I am only a puppy and still need some patience when it comes to toileting, but even in this I am improving. My foster mummy takes me outside now and then and asks me to do a wee and I do listen to her and do my business right away. Already I am getting the basics of sit, stay, come and wee. I have a lovely personality, like to play but also enjoy my down time too. My foster daddy calls me his little white shadow and my foster mummy calls me her sugar cube. Yes I am sweet and adorable indeed!

I am planning to grow into a medium to large sized dog. So I am probably more suitable to families with older children and would benefit from having another friendly dog to keep me company, and it would be nice if someone is home to spend time with me. I am super clever and I will benefit from puppy-training classes and I need plenty of affection, exercise and training.

I need to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. You need good fencing for me with no small gaps and I can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).

As I am not yet desexed, I am only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because I'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when I am approximately 5 months old. I must confess I am not looking forward to it!

For more information or to meet me, please contact my foster mum Anahita by emailing Adamandan@yahoo.com. I live in Blackalls Park, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle).

My adoption fee is $500 and includes my desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and I have been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all off my doggie friends that are available for adoption at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Poppy ~ Lovely Border Collie X

Hi! I am a beautiful, 4 month old, female, Border Collie x puppy named Poppy. My foster mum thinks I should have been named Shadow as I love to follow her around the house.

I am a very affectionate puppy who loves to follow my foster mum around and will snuggle up at any opportunity. Although I have been socialized with other dogs and love to play, I also like to snuggle up with a human and watch the action from there.

I’m energetic and am currently learning to sit and shake, I am improving everyday. My favourite toy is a ball or a fetch stick. I’m currently toilet training with puppy pads and very rarely have an accident off the mat. I am continuing my training and am starting to be trained outside. I will grow up to be a medium sized dog.

I’m waiting for my forever home which we hope is to a loving family who could further my training with my manners (sit and stay) and also further toilet training. I need to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for me.

As Poppy is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.

For more information or to meet Poppy, please contact her foster mum Natalie on 0413 906 653 or email natalie.horn@hotmail.com. Poppy is in the Lake Macquarie area, NSW (near Newcastle).

Rajar ~ Female Rotti X Staffy X Lab Puppy

My name is Rajar! My Foster mum tells me I am a 9 week old, female, Rotti x Staffy x Labrador puppy, although I liken myself to more of a fierce, loving tigress. I am a rambunctious and playful little girl who relishes in playing with my furry friends and squeaky toys, I am right at home having nap next to you and I am looking for my furever family, is it with you?

I am in excellent health, many comment how well behaved I am too! I'm lucky to have had an excellent start to life, being raised in a home environment surrounded by love, children, other puppies, adult dogs and even a cat, I get along well with all of them! I have also met many people and I am friendly with them all, big and small.

I will grow up to be a medium-large dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. Especially if you want a flip to go with your flop because I like shoes.

I would just love a home with a friendly adult dog who can show me the ropes and be my companion and playmate, I’m so used to having furry friends you see. If you don’t have another dog, I would need for someone in the household who doesn’t work full time who can be home with me. I’d love to be a part of your family and join you on your adventures.

I really need to be welcome inside when people are at home, really, how can you resist this cute face? Could I please sleep inside until I am at least fully grown too? I promise I will be a wonderful family dog and I am suitable for a family with children. Due to my curious nature, good fencing with no gaps would be required to keep me safe.

As Rajar is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.

For more information or to meet Rajar, please phone her Foster mum Lana on 0412 241 170 or email lanarawlinson91@gmail.com

Peyton ~ Kelpie X

Introducing Peyton; a beautiful 2 year old Kelpie X.

For a working breed, Peyton is pretty laid back. Some may even say lazy! Peyton enjoys her walks but is quite happy to just lay at your feet and sleep. Like all dogs, Peyton is happiest with her humans, although she is a little shy with men at first. Peyton loves cuddles and pats and is a little bit of a sook. But gee, she’s an awesome time waster and it’s hard to say no to her.

Peyton is a solid dog, so would best suit a family with older children. She is also a pretty boisterous dog, so while she does enjoy the company of other canines, she would need a tolerant buddy. Peyton knows basic commands and as all dogs, would benefit from further training. She is very smart and food responsive so will be easy to train.

Peyton sleeps outside in her kennel at night, but needs inside time with her family as well. She is very happy to lay on her rug in the front of the fire while the rest of the family watches a movie.

Peyton is house-trained, although does have access to go in and out via a doggy door. While Peyton is not a jumper, she will require adequate fencing to keep a smart kelpie like her secure in case she does get bored. Peyton has known love. She has a beautiful nature to go with her good looks.

Peyton deserves the love of a good human and in return, you will get the love and loyalty of a gorgeous dog. If you feel you could provide Peyton with a loving, permanent home, please contact her foster carer Di on 0413 310 791 or email di_keenan@y7mail.com. Peyton is in foster care in Port Stephens and is available for adoption interstate.

Peyton's adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Alice ~ Female Boxer X Staffy Puppy

Alice is a 12 week old female Boxer x Staffy puppy with a beautiful nature. Alice has a beautiful tan coat with a white diamond on the back of her neck.

Alice is adorable! To say she has a kind and friendly disposition is no exaggeration. She plays well with our 12yo female JR and our younger 3yo male JR. She is energetic as all puppies are, but enjoys her three rest breaks a day.

Alice has adapted to walks on her lead and diligently follows our other dogs. For such a young puppy, she learns very quickly. Alice is a good eater and enjoys her food.

Alice is an inside dog but sleeps in the laundry, on her bed, at night. She is always so excited to see us first thing in the morning and puts a smile on all of our faces. Alice lives in our office during the day and is happy to meet everybody and our Clients are happy to meet her.

Alice has basic training, she will sit, stay and come when called (most of the time but is still learning). She is starting to become toilet trained and always follows the other dogs outside. She is still a puppy so the occasional mishap does occur.

Alice has started to last the night in the laundry if taken out just before bed time. Alice is very happy to learn, so she would enjoy further training. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.

Alice plays well with our dogs and is interested in making friends with our neighbour’s dogs, which is a good sign. She has also been chased by their cat so we are not sure how she will go with other cats. She can be over playful at times but she is a puppy and soon wears herself out. Alice can be a little timid when going to a new place but her confidence grows quite quickly. She is also getting used to bath time and is starting to relax more when washed.

Alice would suit a family with young to teenage kids, a couple that work part-time or someone that is retired. Alice loves a cuddle first thing in the morning, lunchtime and in the evening. Since she loves a cuddle she would benefit from someone who is home that could give her the attention she adores. Alice is a wonderful, playful girl that would love to be part of a growing family.

As Alice is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.

If you are interested in meeting Alice, please call or text her foster carer Steve on 0429 622 769 or email steve@maddenqs.com.au. Alice is located in Maitland, NSW (near Newcastle).

Alice’s adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Jax ~ 12mo Cattledog Boy

Introducing the adorable Jax! Jax is a 12 month old Cattledog boy.

Jax is currently in foster care with 3 other dogs and gets along well with them. Jax came into care from the pound and can be a little timid when meeting people and other dogs for the first time, but is then fine

Jax understands basic commands like sit, down and shake (although you need to have his full attention first). Jax would love for his furever family to continue his training as he is a very smart dog and picks things up quickly. Jax is also house trained.

Jax is very affectionate, although due to his size his foster parents would recommend older children or children who have experience with larger dogs. Jax is a very playful dog and loves his toys.

Jax would love to go to a furever home where he has another play mate to keep him company although he would probably be ok as an only dog if someone was home often.

Jax is quiet happy to be outside during the day and sleeps inside at night. Jax will need a secure yard with high fencing.

Jax would make the perfect addition to any family.

For more information or to meet Jax please email foster carer Amy, amyeh34@hotmail.com. Jax is in foster care in Pelaw Main, NSW (west of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.

Bailey is a very happy 6 month old cattle x boy.

Bailey is still young and has a lot of energy so he would love to be a part of an active family or couple who will take him for lots of walks or runs and play games with him. He loves going to the beach and playing with the other dogs. He is also very good with children and very gentle.

Bailey has learnt to sit and comes when he is called. He will learn so much more with some ongoing training. He spends most of his time outside but loves when he is allowed to come inside and be a part of the family. He is toilet trained and will go to the door when he needs to be let out. Bailey enjoys his food and is not aggressive at all. He does not bark unless someone is near the property. We are currently teaching him not to jump up on people when he gets excited and he is doing really well at listening.
