Snowy ~ Bull Terrier X

Introducing Miss Snowy, a 12 month old Bull Terrier x. She is full of energy and love, she loves to jump up for cuddles and kisses at any given opportunity. Snowy is looking for the perfect forever home that will give her the attention she needs and wants.

Snowy is very playful, however she is unsure of new puppy pals. She is a healthy girl who has been around children and a family environment. She loves meeting new people and loves getting cuddles from anyone who will give them to her.

Snowy will be a medium size when fully grown, however she will be short. But just because she is short it doesn’t mean she is short in affection; given the time she will openly display it for everyone.

Snowy does walk on a lead but will need some further training with her forever family as she likes to stop and lay down. She is trained to be in a harness for walks and car rides but does get car sick. Snowy can follow basic commands such as sit, stop, down and shake; she sits for her dinner every night.

Snowy is not suitable for mesh fencing or fencing that has gaps, she is an explorer!

Snowy will need to be welcome inside as she loves being around people, but she does enjoy laying out in the sun on a nice sunny day, she plays with her toys in the yard and will come when called.

For more information or to meet Snowy, please contact her foster carer Amanda on amanda_davison90@hotmail.com. Snowy is in foster care in Wallsend area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Snowy’s adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Maloo ~ Border Collie X Lab Puppy

Hi I’m the absolutely gorgeous Maloo. I’m a 9 week old male Border Collie x Labrador x cute!!!. I should grow up to be a medium to large doggy.

I get on great with other dogs and currently live with my foster brother Jack and sister Romy (8 week old DRN pups) and my foster sister a 3 year old Blue Heeler who I love playing with. I am also growing up with 2 toddlers and a baby who I love giving kisses too and receiving heaps of cuddles and plenty of playtime.

I’m a quiet pup and enjoy snuggling with you. I sit back and take everything in but also can be spontaneous and have a burst of energy to wrestle and play. Having Border Collie in me though means I need lots of playtime, running around and I need to be kept busy. I travel very well in the car and sleep most of the time travelling when I find a comfy spot.

I am still working on toilet training and learning basic commands well. I come to my name running and I’m starting to sit when it’s tucker time too. But being a puppy all this will take time and I need your patience as I learn and thrive.

My foster mum thinks I’m going to be so super loyal for my right forever home. I reckon she would adopt me herself if she could! I like to stay close to you even when we are out and about I won’t go too far from you and happily lay at your feet. I’m very relaxed when I’m not playing and will just lay there with you.

I do enjoy being indoors but love exploring outdoors as well and sometimes I prefer sleeping in my kennel too!

When it comes to walking on the lead I’m still learning the whole concept this but I follow the best I can. So be patient with me while I learn please.

I reckon my ideal home needs to be full of love, fun, energy and cuddles!!! I like a few toys around to play with especially if you’re not home but would prefer someone home most of the time. I need an energetic home as I need to be exercised and played with heaps daily, go for runs and play at the beach and parks. I need good fencing, a warm dry place to sleep; a playmate would be great too. I will reward you with smiles, licks, snuggles, loyalty, love and laughter.

As Maloo is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.

For more information or to meet Maloo, please phone his foster mum Rebecca on becca.tw@hotmail.com. Maloo. is in foster care in Mayfield, NSW.

Maloo’s adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms.

Lilly And Suzie ~ Labradors

These sisters are the closest and most affectionate siblings you'll have the pleasure of cuddling. Lilly (black) and Suzie (chocolate) are purebred Labradors (with pedigree certificates), 2 and a half years old, born of the same litter and have always been together. They are medium sized.

Inseparable. Playful. Affection. Adorable. Both are shy at first, but once they warm to you, they love nothing more than pats and praise. The affection from the girls is always simultaneous. Two happy faces in your lap, looking up at you with wide eyed love, lapping up the attention, tails wagging in time. After a little nervousness in their initial approach, the girls become comfortable around the family. As much as they love attention, they are content to nap while I work away on the computer for hours.

Lilly is the ever-watchful guard, looking out for her sister. She is the more confident girl. Where Lilly goes, Suzie follows. Suzie follows her sister's lead in all areas except for ball play. Suzie is goofy in her playfulness, loves fetching a ball, which she brings straight back to you.

Lilly and Suzie are up for adoption as a bonded pair. They have some slightly anxious tendencies. They can be easily spooked, and need each other to remain calm.

Their new forever home will need to allow the dogs plenty of time inside with the family. After an initial few minutes of happiness about being with you, they quickly become very placid, lounging about, more often than, not nestled against each other. After they’ve settled in their new home, they can usually sleep outside, but if there is wind or a storm they can get a bit spooked so will need to sleep inside. Some nights they sleep in my room, others they are cuddled together outside the back door. They are well toilet trained, so having them inside is not an issue.

Lilly and Suzie's new family will need the patience to support the girls in eliminating their anxious reactions. They can be very timid when approaching you, but when they feel that first touch, a hand brushing against their face, all is well. They need training to make them better when walking, and especially need training in how to approach other dogs. A family willing to help the girls through these issues will be rewarded with a super special sister act.

For more information or to meet Lilly and Suzie, please contact their foster carer Dean on 0432 916 353 or email dean@alphabear.com.au. Lilly and Suzie are in foster care in Hamilton, NSW (Newcastle) and are not available for adoption interstate.

Lilly and Suzie's adoption fee is $890 for the pair and they are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, worms and heartworm, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Toffee ~ Amstaff X Bull Terrier

Hi, my name is Toffee. I am a 7 year old American staffy x Bull terrier who loves affection and attention. I am looking for someone to love and care for me.

My favourite thing to do is to go for a walk and I get so excited. After I get over my excitement I will walk by your side but initially I do tend to pull so I would appreciate a walking harness.

Another of my favourite pastimes is to play fetch with toys or a stick. I am very good at retrieving and will even drop it at your feet. I have lots of energy so can for as long as you like.

I am toilet trained and will also never have any accidents during a walk let alone in the house. I have basic training and can sit, stay and come when called.

I currently sleep outside on my bed on an undercover area but do like time with my human friends so if I can come inside for a bit of love I would really like that.

I don’t really like other dogs too much as I really want you all to myself so I do need to be an only dog. I am good with cats and kids. I am not a barker unless it is necessary.

I am so excited to find my forever home with you and I promise to be a loving, loyal and a caring dog. So please pick me!

If you would like to meet me, my foster mum’s name is Natasha and she is happy to talk to you about me. Her number is 0433 320 918 (text only) or email her gazinginward@hotmail.com. I am located in Glendale, NSW and am available for adoption interstate.

Toffee’s adoption fee is $200 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Jack ~ Red Cattle Dog

Hi I'm Jack and I'm a no fuss kinda guy. I like the simple things in life, you know like a safe warm bed inside, a belly filled with a couple of good meals a day and a really good human mate that I can hang with, have fun with and maybe even go to work with. You gotta admit, I'd look mighty damn fine on the front seat, cruising next to my human buddy with the wind blowin' in my face.

At the moment I'm living with my foster Mum & Dad and foster brother, another cattle dog, I really like my foster brother but sometimes he gets a bit bossy so I think I'd maybe like to try and move out on my own and have my person all to myself but I can't choose who I'd prefer. My foster Dad is so awesome because we do fun stuff like running and playing in the yard and we even have a special goodbye when he goes off to work but again my foster brother always tries to push in front (Dad doesn't always let him though). And then there's my foster Mum. She always feeds me, she's so warm and cuddly and lets me snuggle with her. Hey... c'mon y'all know there's nothing better than a cuddle, even though I look sturdy and robust every boy always loves a cuddle and I give cuddles as well as I get them. So I wouldn't mind if I had a Dad or a Mum or maybe I could have both ! I know I have enough love to go all around. Oh and I don't mind kids either. I haven't met a cat yet but my foster Dad thinks with the right introduction I might be ok with one as I have a very gentle nature.

I still get a little bit nervous with loud noises and they scare me a bit, but Dad says I have progressed a great deal since I first came to stay with them. So if you'd like to meet me I am in care in Lake Macquarie and my foster Dad would love to tell you how great I am.

For more information or to meet Jack, please contact Bronwen on 0413 729 229 or BR0NN13@hotmail.com. Jack is in foster care in Lake Macquarie area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Jack’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Ylva ~ Staffy X

My name is Ylva and I have a huge heart! I’m an energetic and loveable 6 month old Staffy cross looking for my forever home. Please adopt me!

I’ve been sleeping and playing outside with two 6 year old Rottweilers and we have so much fun. I adore them and they adore me! Although I’ve been staying outside, I am toilet trained and love spending time and cuddling up inside with my foster carers.

I would suit a family with children, I’ve been around them on occasion and love playing!

I love car rides and am well behaved in the car. I’ve learnt to sit on command and have almost mastered waiting for my food.

I’m a very busy girl and have been known to escape on occasion. I am very content with my surroundings but if I see an opportunity, I take it! Therefore I would recommend a fully enclosed yard. I would also love to have another dog/s to play with if possible.

I’m desexed and fully immunised. I was neglected and malnourished when my foster carers took me in, since then I’ve put on 6 kg and have a very healthy appetite. I feel great!

I can’t wait to meet my beautiful forever family. If you would like to play and cuddle up with me forever please get in touch with my carers!

For more information or to meet Ylva please phone Brad on 0403 286 407 or email bradjsteen@yahoo.com.au. Ylva is in foster care in Tighes Hill and is available for adoption interstate.

Ylva’s adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Maisy ~ Cute Kelpie X Puppy

Introducing sweet little Maisy! She’s a lovable, bouncy 10 week old Kelpie x puppy with an inquisitive personality. Maisy is a pleasure to look after with her playful antics and affectionate nature.

Maisy loves company and is not a dog to leave in your backyard. She just wants to follow you around and loves nothing better than falling asleep on your lap on the lounge. Maisy is the smallest of the litter and can be timid in new situations and needs plenty of reassurance. She is currently living with a Labrador and her sister who she loves romping around with.

Maisy is very well behaved for a puppy but will still chew your shoes and dig in the garden. She is very smart and easy to train and just wants to please. She loves her food and will sit and wait patiently for her dinner. She is not toilet trained, but learning fast. We recommend taking her to puppy preschool - not just for obedience but for socializing and exercise too.

Maisy had a rough start to life and her history and breeding are unknown. She most likely has a sheep dog background and will be a high energy dog that will need plenty of regular exercise to keep her mind and body healthy.

Maisy would be ideally suited to a family that will incorporate her into their daily lives and have her in the home. She would be better suited to older children who can participate in training her. She does need company so she would suit an adult that is home more often than not and she would be a great companion for another dog with playful energy levels. She will grow into a medium to large sized dog and needs high, secure fences to keep her safe.

As Maisy is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.

If you are after a gentle, loving and faithful companion then Maisy is the puppy for you. For more information or to meet Maisy, please contact Lucy on 0434 430 720 or lucyhollard@idl.com.au. Maisy is in care in the Newcastle area, NSW.

Maisy's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

No photo for Roxy ~ Blue Cattle Dog Puppy

Roxy ~ Blue Cattle Dog Puppy

Are you a Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler lover? If so you are going to love me and find me completely irresistible! I'm Roxy and I'm a very special 6 month old Blue Cattle Dog puppy. As you can see from my photos I am adorable and I've got a beautiful temperament that matches my stunning good looks. I have quirky, lopsided ears and a grin that will have you smitten with me from first sight.

On top of being gorgeous and affectionate, I have a very special quality as I'm deaf. My deafness doesn't dampen my zest for life and it makes me even more adorable in my innocence. I'm currently looking for a wonderful family who can commit to the extra training and care that deaf dogs like me need over our lifetime.

I’m a real sweetheart with my humans and I enjoy making new friends with people and dogs alike. I'm in foster care with 2 small dogs and I love playing with them. Big, small, young, old - I love being friends with everyone! Because of my deafness I can sometimes miss out on other dogs social cues when they want a break from playing. So I need to be adopted by a family with a calm, tolerant and playful dog who doesn't mind if I'm super friendly. I won't do well in a single dog family sorry as I love to follow other dogs - I'm simply not confident in my silent world without another dog.

I am quiet and gentle when meeting new people so my new family needs to keep me well socialised as a pup and commit to my constant socialisation as I grow older and experience more of the world outside my yard. If there are children in the family it is best that they are older so that all family members can be involved in my sign-language training.

I've already started learning basic sign language - I'm learning Come, Sit and Good Girl. I'm also learning to have good eye contact and to watch my foster family's faces. Learning to look at my family for guidance is very important for my sign language training and for my long term communication and social skills.

I'd love a daily walk or run (when I'm older) for exercise and mental stimulation. I am not allowed off lead when we are out as it's too dangerous for me - I can't hear cars and you can't call me back. I am an inside/outside pup and must be allowed inside with my family when they are at home – even when I’m older. I enjoy playing in the sunshine in a safe yard with my canine friends. I will need to sleep inside at night.

For more information on adorable Roxy and her special life-long requirements, please contact Kiki on email kikistephen@ymail.com (preferred) or 0413 666 442 (after business hours). Roxy is in foster care near Gosford, NSW Central Coast.

Roxy’s adoption fee is $450 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments and micro chipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Zip is a beautiful 7 month old, female, kelpie X cattle dog full of love and puppy enthusiasm. She loves chasing a ball or anything that moves, going for walks and splashing about in water. She enjoys life to the max.

Zip gets along very well with other dogs. She can be a bit nervous at first but soon makes friends. She also loves the company of people!

Zip will sit when asked but hasn't had the benefit of any other early training so she needs someone that will be patient and take the time to take her to a training class or do some at-home instruction. Ted ~ 3yo Red Kelpie X Boy

Ted is an affectionate 3-year-old red Kelpie cross. He is active and playful but he will drop everything if he thinks he can get a cuddle in. He is full of warmth and love.

As well as being big on cuddles, Ted is a very happy and excitable boy. His stumpy tail seems to allow him to wag it twice as fast, which fits his enthusiastic personality. He loves being silly and having a play. His favourite game is tug of war but he also enjoys playing fetch and being chased around the yard. The inner puppy is still alive within Ted.

Ted is happy being an outside dog, as long as he gets lots of cuddles and attention. Being a Kelpie, he is full of energy and will need to go to an active home that can provide him with lots of playtime and exercise. Ted is also a very smart dog and will need mental stimulation with different games and training.

Ted knows basic commands (sit, stay, lie, give). He is a very clever boy and absolutely loves to learn and will thrive in a home that will continue to teach him. He really enjoys his food and responds well to food reward training as well as attention. He is a very well behaved dog and loves to please.

Possibly as a product of his past, Ted becomes anxious in new settings and meeting other dogs. Ted’s socialisation with other dogs is a work in progress and it currently looks like he would be unsuitable for a home with other dogs. His anxiety around other dogs also means that taking him for walks can be difficult when coming into contact with dogs. It is important that Ted’s future family is understanding of his anxiety and is committed to his ongoing socialisation training.

Ted loves to be around humans and is a great companion. Because of his active nature, he will suit a home with older children. He is best suited to a home without other dogs or cats.

Ted is a delightful dog, with a lot of charm and character and will be an irreplaceable addition to his future home.

For more information or to meet Ted, please contact his foster carer Abby on 0401 794 212 or email abbyttinlin@gmail.com. Ted is in foster care in Tamworth, NSW and is available for adoption interstate. Ted is available for meet and greets in the Newcastle area as well.

Ruby ~ Kelpie X

Some times you just have to sit in awe of how music can add meaning to life. This is our Ruby Tuesday and in the words of the Rolling Stones “She would never say where she came from, Yesterday don’t matter if it’s gone...”.

This beautiful girl came to us on a Tuesday, a gorgeous Kelpie cross who we think is around 5 years old. Ruby was surrendered to a country Pound with 8 one day old puppies. She was emaciated and terrified. Every bone in her body was showing and yet somehow, she managed to feed her pups and be a doting mum from day 1. Despite her neglect, Ruby was trusting of her carer and allowed us to help with her babies. Not only was she starved of food, she desperately craved the love and attention from the people around her. The fact that we always came with food probably had a lot to do with that!

Ruby has now been living in a loving family environment for 3 months and looks like a different dog. Her favourite thing is people of all ages. She loves kids, but would need to be rehomed with kids over 8 who she couldn’t accidentally knock over. Ruby will need to be an only dog with lots of time and attention from her people. She wants to be by your side all the time and could therefore find her purpose as a companion or emotional support dog within the confines of home. Ruby will need some training on the lead and out in the wide world where she can be over-stimulated.

It would do her the world of good if her new family took her to Good Manners training classes. She is going to need someone with time and patience to help her be the best dog she can be. What you will get in return is unwavering love and loyalty. She has bonded very closely with her foster mum and much prefers the company of people to other dogs.

Ruby will need a large yard and secure gates with 5ft fencing. A secure house yard on a property will definitely be considered as she has not proved to be a jumper (no post and wire though). She is turning into a striking looking dog but is wearing the effects of multiple litters with larger than normal teats. This in no way effects her life, but her owners must be willing to accept how she looks, teats and all! Her life is really just beginning, she deserves the absolute best for her days to come.

So “Goodbye Ruby Tuesday, Still I’m gonna miss you.”

For more information or to meet Ruby, please contact her foster mum Lauren at hitthesand@hotmail.com. Ruby is in foster care in Salamander Bay, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Ruby’s adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Luna ~ 10mo Bull Arab X

Meet the very gorgeous and very cuddly Luna! Luna is a 10 month old, medium size, Bull Arab x girl who is full of love, personality and would make a wonderful addition to the right family.

Luna is very smart, she knows how to sit, lay, shake and roll! She loves to learn new things and responds very well to toy and treat rewards. Luna would do very well at training classes. Her favourite things to do are: chasing a ball, going for a swim or a walk and playing with other dogs!

Luna's ideal home would be with an active couple, family or single person where she will get lots of human companionship. She loves to sit by your side and cuddle up to you any chance she gets!

Luna is very well behaved inside and would spend all her time inside if she could. Luna is not a digger, she is happy to sleep inside or out and is also suitable to be an only dog. Luna will need 5-6 foot high fences and is not suitable for cats, birds or small pets. She loves children but would be best suited with children over the age of 10 as she can sometimes be too energetic for them.

For more information or to meet Luna, please contact her foster carer Lisa on pinkkitty4@hotmail.com. Luna is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Luna's adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Nikki ~ Kelpie X Cattle Dog

Nikki is a sweet natured 2 year old Kelpie x Cattle. She is very loyal and loving and would like nothing else but to be part of a family. She loves going for walks and playing with her ball which she will fetch for you anytime. Nikki loves playing in water, with other toys and people.

Nikki is not a fence jumper or barker unless she is alerting you to something. She does like a nice bit of dirt to lay in, if she can’t find one she will make one to cool off.

She loves to lean on you and melt onto your feet when you are sitting. She is well mannered and know not to jump on the bed or couch. Nikki can sit and wait for her meals calmly. She shakes hands and sits when asked.

Nikki came into care with a dislocated hip that she had been carrying for over 1 year. She was holding it up and there was significant muscle wastage. She has had a successful operation to rectify and rehabilitation to strengthen and get her using it again. She still occasionally hops at a certain speed (this could just be habit) and may get a bit sore after a full day of running, but this never stops her. She is fast and it does not hold her back in anyway. She is on the improve all the time.

Nikki loves a run at the dog park but is more interested in chasing a ball than playing with others. It may take a bit for her to warm to another dog in the family, but then they will be inseparable. Although Nikki walks well with a halti lead, being a working dog, she will need some ongoing training to make sure she knows that all moving things don’t need to be chased. She is very smart and a fast learner.

Nikki would suit most active families, including families with older children who are confident with playful dogs. She would best suit a family where someone is home a lot or with a canine friend if you are a full-time worker - she is too social to be left alone all day. Nikki hasn't been cat, chicken or pocket-pet tested as yet. Nikki is toilet trained, can use a doggy door and sleeps inside. She would suit a fenced rural environment, but a large fully fenced yard would be fine

For more information or to meet Nikki, please email her carer on jodideamer@gmail.com. Nikki is located in Port Stephens, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Nikki's adoption fee is $450 and includes her desexing, vaccination, treatment for fleas and worms, microchipping, and lifetime registration.

Sadie ~ Dalmatian X Kelpie

Hi I’m Sadie! I’m a 1 year old Dalmatian x Kelpie girl with the most beautiful blue eyes.

I promise I will follow you everywhere because I am the best companion and I want to be with you all the time. I am an inside dog and I love sleeping on the bed with you and love lots of cuddles. My favourite cuddling spot is on the couch with you while watching TV.

I am very intelligent and a very fast learner. Mum taught me to sit, shake paws and lay down. I know that it’s time to sit if the food or treats are coming. I live with cats, little husky puppy and another big dog and I get along with them well. My foster mum has been working on my training so I don’t get a jealous around them but it’s still work in progress.

I like a little bit of a rough playing so I would be most suitable for a home with a dog who likes it too. My mum says I have been fine with my human foster brother but she wouldn’t recommend a family with small children as I can be a bit bossy at times. I get quite excited while playing and I bark when I do that so this could scare the little humans if they don’t know me.

I sometimes get nervous about going places and mum says that’s because I’m just worried she will leave me there and not come back. I am a pretty good jumper so high fences would be great but don’t worry, once I’m settled and I know that all my friends and toys are on my side of the fence, I won’t even consider getting out. While you are out I will happily waiting for you to come home.

My mum is happy with how I walk on the lead, I can pull a bit at first but I settle down really fast. I also love the car and going for a ride. I absolutely loves to chew my toys and chew sticks so keep them coming.

If you are a family with loads of free time and maybe with a puppy playmate or older dog I would be the perfect dog for you.

For more information or to meet me, please contact my foster mum Dione on Chickydn2ts@gmail.com or 0439487903. I am in foster care in Swansea, NSW and am available for adoption interstate.

My adoption fee is $500 and I am desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Pepe ~ Kelpie X

Hi, my name is Pepe and I am a 7mo Kelpie X male. I definitely have Kelpie in me, look at my adorable ears! How could you not love them? Apparently the rangers found me wandering the streets and took me to the pound. My owners didn’t come and claim me so Dog Rescue Newcastle broke me out!

I am a very sociable boy. I have gotten along with dogs I have met of all shapes and sizes. My foster parents always take me to my friends’ houses for play dates. They have a pet rabbit. I always go and say hi by sniffing her and then I leave her alone. I am great with my friend’s 7 year old son. He is respectful of my need for space. He lets me sniff him so that he knows I approve, before he pats me. If I am adopted and you have children I would need them to understand I need my space first.

My foster parents are full-time workers. I would prefer they didn’t work as much or even if they had a friend who could keep me company when they're away. While they are away I haven’t made any attempt to dig or jump my way out. When they come home from work they let me inside. My foster parents think I have come a long way in just 2 months.

I am spoilt for choice on where I can sleep. I sleep on my foster carer’s bed or on my own bed at the foot of their bed and I sleep soundly until they wake up for work. During the day I have my own kennel and soft bedding I can sleep on.

I love walks and I have even started running with my foster parents. I am still a little scared of the outside world, but make more progress every time we go out.

I am learning a number of things whilst in foster care. I understand “sit”, “wee wee”, “no”, and “on your bed”. My ideal home would be with a single person, couple, or a family where I can get lots of attention and ongoing training - I am still a puppy after all. I would love to go to school! Will you take me please? Ideally if my new parents have to work, I would like another doggy friend to keep me company, or lots of things to keep me stimulated throughout the day - otherwise I will get bored.

For more information or to meet Pepe, please contact Jasmine on email drn.jasmine@gmail.com. Pepe is in foster care in Warabrook, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Pepe's adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

No photo for Freya ~ Red Cattle X

Freya ~ Red Cattle X

Hi! My name is Freya (I was previously called Crumpet but my foster Mum thought I deserved a prettier name). It comes from Old Norse Mythology and means 'Lady', and the Goddess Freya symbolises Love, Beauty and Fertility. My Humans said this was perfect because not only am I beautiful, but I am a gentle, caring dog with so much love to give.

I am a Red Cattle X. We don't know what I am crossed with, but the guess is that it is something small and slim. There really isn't much of me! I don't bark! (Ever, my foster mum calls me a mute because she hasn't ever heard me make a noise!) I don't dig holes! I really am a calm and gentle girl.

Not much is known about the first three years of my life, but I am very timid. It takes me a little while to warm up to people, but once I know you aren't going to hurt me then it’s all systems go and I am ready to show you how much I can love you. I still get frightened by noises, yelling etc. but I just need reassurance that everything is okay. Since being with my foster family for the last two months I have progressed so much! And I am getting braver and more confident in new situations everyday. Mum says that she doesn't think my original owners put much effort into training me - so while I'm not naughty, I will need a bit of help understanding commands. I really do want to learn and impress you, and in return you will get my unwavering loyalty and affection. One thing I am great at is recall, and I will always come back to my name or a whistle (I never want to be too far from my humans)!

I LOVE cuddles, and despite being a high energy breed, I am more than happy to lay next to you for as long as you like. I sleep inside and am toilet trained to do so, so it is important that I am able to go to a home that will let me continue this routine and allow me to be a part of the family and join them inside when they are home. In saying that, I do still love playing outside and will happily entertain myself with toys or a doggy friend. I am friendly with all dogs, my human's take me to the dog park everyday so I get a lot of socialisation. My Mum says that while I am timid and cuddly, my energy levels are still high and I would need to be walked daily (I LOVE the beach and parks too!!), have a decent size backyard to play in. A dog friend would be good but isn't essential as I love the attention and wouldn't mind being an only child as long as there is someone home most of the time.

I am good around kids, but my humans think that I would be best for a family with children 6 and older. My favourite things to do would be to play with my foster sister. I am very agile and like to make her chase me, and when she does I will roll around on the ground and play dead. This scared my foster mum at first but now she knows this is how we like to play and it’s pretty entertaining to watch. Another quirk I have, which makes everyone laugh, is that I like to take all of my foster mum's shoes (and clothes if I can get my paws on them!) to my bed to snuggle with. I have never destroyed anything, but I like to cuddle up to her things even if it makes me very uncomfortable and takes up a lot of room in my bed. Everyone thinks it’s adorable, and my foster mum now knows to look in my bed if anything is missing!

My forever home would need 5ft secure fencing. While I haven't proved to be an escape artist, Mum says I am so quick and agile that if a loud noise scared me enough I may be tempted to jump and run given the chance.

For more information or to meet me, please contact my foster mum Emily on pearceemily_3@hotmail.com. I am in foster care in Umina Beach, NSW (Central Coast) and am available for adoption interstate.

My adoption fee is $450 and I am desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Sabine is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. She has been very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with them all. She's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them.

Sabine will grow up to be a medium size dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.

It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Sabine. If you don't have another dog to keep her company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.

Sabine needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. She will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).

Sabine's brothers: Jacob, Aiden and Cohen are also available for adoption.

As Sabine is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.

Tiger ~ 1yo Gorgeous Stripy Girl

My name is Tiger ... probably because of my grace, gorgeous stripes and silky soft coat, which I don't mind if you stroke ALL day long because I just love cuddles. I’m 1 year old and we aren’t really sure of my breed – possibly a bit of german shepherd.

My face is of an angel and I’ve got the cutest ears. I’m also not very big and will probably only be a medium sized dog. I’m toilet trained and a good girl inside, but I’d love to do some more training with my new family.

I'm looking for my very own person or family with kids around 10yrs old that will take the time to continue with helping me trust new people, other dogs and please, don't even talk to me about cats ... In return I promise I will give you my undying love and devotion (I have a very special look that I give to only those that love me and so far only my foster Mum has seen it).

I quite like my own company and can entertain myself by chasing flies or skinks and while I have fun throwing a ball around it's much more thrilling if you throw it for me ... you throw it, I'll run and get it and bring it back, drop it and I'll try SO very hard to sit still and wait but I can hardly contain my excitement at doing it all over again ... It's the FUNNEST game ever!!!

I have a few beds that are my safe places where I like to chill out so I'd really like to bring them with me when I find my new family. I'd like to meet you even though I may be very shy on our initial meeting.

For more information or to meet me, please contact Bron by emailing br0nn13@hotmail.com or on 0413 729 229. I am currently in foster care in Newcastle NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Barney ~ Kelpie X Border Collie

Hi, this is Barney. He is a 9 month old Kelpie X Border Collie. Barney is an energetic and happy boy who loves being around his foster parents enjoying many snuggles a day.

Barney is playful and very dog friendly as he currently lives with a larger cattle dog. He would be suited to a family with another playful dog however, this is not a necessity. Barney has learnt quickly to walk on the lead which he thoroughly enjoys.

He currently spends the daytime outside but he is definitely an inside dog who loves a comfortable and warm lounge or bed to make him feel safe.

We believe that due to his size and loving nature he would be great with kids.

If you are looking for a small-medium dog that loves to play outside with you but also want a companion to cuddle with on the lounge, Barney is the boy for you!

For more information or to meet Barney, please contact his foster parents by email james_sam87@outlook.com. Barney is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Angus ~ Blue Heeler

Angus is a six and a half year old Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) who would like nothing more than to find a home with someone that understands cattle dog traits. He is very handsome and cuddly, not to mention super smart.

Angus is a loveable and loyal dog who seems oblivious to his size (medium) when he curls up on your lap for a pat and a bit of a nap. He loves interaction with adults and will happily follow you around the back yard while you work. Of course, if you want to throw him a tennis ball while you're at it, that would be an added bonus! He loves playing fetch.

Angus loves running, so if you want a running partner or have a goal to get fit for the new year then this dog is for you! Angus loves nothing more than a bash through the bush.

Angus has had extensive training and is very obedient. He will sit, stay, drop, and come when called (though naturally he can become distracted by other dogs sometimes). Angus is also house trained.

Angus would thrive in a home with a single person or older couple with grown kids. He is a very sociable dog and would love to be in a home where he could enjoy spending time with his new owners both inside and out. He currently sleeps in his kennel in the garage.

Angus is not suitable for a family with young kids as he doesn’t understand small children. He would be better as an only dog; although with slow introduction he might be OK with a friendly, calm, female dog. He is a bit reactive when out and around other dogs. Pocket pets and cats are also a no go for Angus. Angus would really appreciate someone who is patient, dog savvy and willing to understand him. He will repay your understanding a million times over with all his affection, loyalty and cheerful presence.

For more information or to meet Angus, please contact Sharron by phone 0423 331 057 or email: sstudley3@bigpond.com. Angus is in foster care in Rathmines, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
