Cleo ~ 1 Year Old Mastiff X Ridgeback

Cleo is a 1 year old Mastiff x Ridgeback girl with a huge heart and beautiful nature.

Cleo loves to cuddle and show you how much she loves you, she still likes to sit on your lap when invited but shes realizing shes getting a little big for that and rest her head on your lap instead.

Cleo plays outside through the day with the other dogs who she loves and gets along with really well. She sleeps inside at night and is now toilet trained.

Cleo's perfect home would be with a playmate or someone's companion going places with them etc., being a puppy she cries if left alone all day.

Cleo is learning basic commands and will be a perfect girl with continued training. She loves learning. Cleo is good with kids but does jump up to play with little ones she will come away from them when called so supervision will be needed if kids are playing otherwise she loves to sit and snuggle with kids. Cleo loves to play tug o war, chasies, and jumping around in the shell pool on a warm day. She’s good walking on the lead and so far not afraid of storms or fireworks.

For more information or to meet Cleo, please contact her foster carer Joy on Joy.was.here@hotmail.com Cleo is in foster care in Woodrising, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Cleo’s adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Nikki ~ 2 Year Old Kelpie X

Nikki is a sweet natured 2 yo Kelpie X. Apart from her good looks she is very loyal and loving and would like nothing else than to be part of your life. She enjoys playing with toys, swimming and especially being with people. She just loves to be near you. She shows affection by leaning on you or melting onto your feet when you are sitting.

Nikki comes when she is called, and will sit and shake hands and wait calmly for her meals. She's not a fence jumper. She only barks when she is alerting you to something. She's well mannered indoors and knows not to jump on the bed or couch unless she is allowed. She travels well in the car. She is very smart, loves learning new things and is a fast learner. She must be allowed inside with people. She is house trained, can use a doggy door and sleeps inside.

Nikki is currently in kennels where she gets along very well with lots of other dogs of all sizes. She hasn't been tested with cats or other pets yet.

Nikki adores people that she knows but doesn't like being approached head-on by strangers in the street. She is not the dog for you if you're a social butterfly or live in a busy urban area. But if you want a gorgeous, smart, playful, loyal dog who will help you feel safe and adored then you should meet Nikki!

Nikki doesn't need a daily walk. A couple of times a week would be fine so long as you stay away from busy places. She'd be very happy getting most of her exercise at home in a large yard and having lots of time with her family. She would absolutely love having another playful dog of similar size for company.

Nikki needs a forever home with people who are gentle, calm, experienced with larger dogs, and never harsh or punishing. She would suit a family with older children or no children. She likes lots of company so if you are home alot and/or have another dog to keep her busy, Nikki would love to be your most loyal friend.

For more information or to meet Nikki, please send email to Johnpgid@yahoo.com.au. Nikki is located in Port Stephens NSW and is not available for adoption interstate.

Nikki's adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Wolfie ~ 2 Year Old Wolfhound X

This is one big boy! Young and full of life! Wolfie loves to spend time with people and enjoys being included in family activities. He really loves his long morning and night walks, especially in the bush where he can use nose to find all sorts of delicious smells.

Wolfie had a rough start to life. We believe he was raised for pig hunting but he was too gentle to be a good hunter so he was hit on the head with a hammer and left in the bush for dead. Wolfie woke up and walked many kilometres back to town to find food at a local supermarket. He was very skinny and the pads of his feet were worn down from the long journey. He was picked up by rangers and taken to the pound. He has shown that he is an affectionate dog and is not aggressive to people or other dogs.

Wolfie is able to learn new things and is motivated to figure out what you are asking. He does get over-excited with the people he loves and will jump on you.

Wolfie responds very well to positive reinforcement / reward-based training and this should be continued in his new home. He doesn't respond to punishment at all. Our trainers are happy to advise you about how to continue Wolfie's training.

Wolfie's ideal home would be with someone who has time to spend with him. He enjoys a walk every morning and every evening. He enjoys different places and scents so he would be thrilled to accompany you on a trek in the bush or the beach! He is housetrained and comes inside to spend time with his family. He likes to play with plastic bottles, ropes and rags!

Wolfie needs to be an only dog as he gets excited and can bowl other dogs over because of his size! His ideal owner would need to be able to deal with his strength and manage him on lead if he pulls and needs to be willing to continue reward-based training. He does not currently live with children because if he gets excited he may bowl them over! He is fine with cats.

Wolfie is nervous around new people and it can take him a few weeks or more to understand that you are friendly. But once he trusts you, you will have gained a friend for life! He is very excited to see you and sometimes greets you with a little howl of happiness. Wolfie is waiting to you.

For more information or to meet Wolfie, the first stage in the application process is to fill out an application form (you can download one from here http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt.html). Once you have filled this out, please then send it to wolfiewolfhound@yahoo.com

Wolfie is in foster care in Maitland, NSW. He is only available for local area adoption, so that his trainers can help settle him into his new home.

Wolfie's adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Nova ~ Cute Mastiff X Great Dane Puppy

My name is Nova and I’m an 12 week old Mastiff x Great Dane cuddly pair of legs! I’m a bit of a smoocher, cuddles are my fave! I hope you have a big lounge!

I’m really good at shaking hands and hi-5, I can sit for treats but when I see my food bowl? Boy oh boy let me show you my gymnastics routine! Mum hasn’t managed to get me to sit and wait for my dinner yet as she’s too busy laughing at me.

In my new home I will need someone there for me all the time or if that’s not possible at least most of the time with a furry friend. If you can’t provide that then it is a big deal breaker for me and my mum will agree, I can’t cope on my own. I’ve spent majority of my very short life in a pound and now that my foster family have shown me what unconditional love is I won’t settle for anything less, but I promise I will love you right back and just as much!

It’s very important that my new family takes me to puppy school. I’ll grow into my legs and I’ll be a very tall girl - move over Miranda Kerr - so training is a must! Please understand that I’m still only a baby and I will go through that “puppy stage” as they call it, but I’ll grow out of it nicely with training, patience and persistence (and lots of love).

Even though I’m a little lanky now, my new yard still needs to have no gaps or holes where I could possibly escape from and fences high enough so I can’t jump or climb over once I’m a big girl. I can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).

I can’t wait to find my fur-ever home!

As I am not yet desexed, I am is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because I'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when I’m approximately 5 months old.

If you think I would fit perfectly into your family and would like to meet me, please contact my foster mum Brittany via email with an adoption questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx to Brittany_wilson@live.com I am in foster care in Newcastle area , NSW.

Nova's adoption fee is $550 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms.

Nixon ~ Sweet Mastiff X Great Dane Puppy

My name is Nixon but you can call me Mummy’s boy … or Daddy’s boy. What? I can love them both! I’m an 12 week old Mastiff x Great Dane bundle of love with devilish good looks and a cracking personality to match.

They laugh at how much of a vocal pup I am, I make funny groans when I need a cuddle and once I get them I groan to say thanks.

In my new home I will need someone there for me all the time or if that’s not possible at least most of the time with a furry friend. If you can’t provide that then it is a big deal breaker for me and my mum will agree, I can’t cope on my own. I’ve spent majority of my very short life in a pound and now that my foster family have shown me what unconditional love is I won’t settle for anything less, but I promise the love will be reciprocated x1000!

I hang out with my sister Nova, and Tank and Zuri my foster siblings during the day and I bet if they could talk they’d call me the ankle biter but I just love them sooooo much! I’ve been well associated with other dogs and would love a brother or sister who I can wrestle and make dinosaur noises with.

It’s very important my new family takes me to puppy school. I’ll be quite a solid dude when I’m older so training is a must! Please understand that I’m still only a baby and I will go through that “puppy stage” as they call it, but I’ll grow out of it nicely with training, patience and persistence (and lots of love).

I’m a very inquisitive little man, so my new yard needs to have no gaps or holes where I could possibly escape from and fences high enough so I can’t jump over once I’m fully grown into a big, strong and incredibly handsome boy. I can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).

As I am not yet desexed, I am is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because I'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when I’m approximately 5 months old.

Boost ~ Sweet Shar Pei X Puppy

Hi! I’m Boost but look a little like Scooby Doo! I'm not as tough as him though because I'm only 5 months old and have a routine of night time cuddles. I'm not a nuisance barker but will tell you a stranger is there. I am a little lazy but walk great on a lead.

My foster mummy loves my FAT CHOPS!! She is constantly kissing me and to be honest .... I sorta LOVE IT !

My brother Bounty and I look to be the pawfect blend of Shar Pei cross. My new family will need to take us places to see new and exciting things so that we become the best family doggy we can be.

If you would love for me to be a part of your family, I'd love to tell you what I am looking for:

* Someone who can spend loads of time teaching me as I love to learn.
* A family would be great but older kids are preferred as I'm only a baby myself.
* I'd prefer somebody home but if you have a furry friend to keep me occupied then that would be ok too.
* I need high fencing (colourbond or timber) as I am going to grow into a big boy when I'm older.

I love to play fetch and I am learning to sit and wait for my food - not as easy as they think!

Bounty and I have made a pact not to go to a home that is too busy to spend time with us. I hope you can understand.

As I’m not yet desexed, I am only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because I’ll need to be returned to the vet for desexing when I’m approximately 5 months old.

For more information or to meet me, please send the application form http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt.html to my foster mum Kelly on adoptmefromkelly@hotmail.com I am currently in foster care at Central Coast

My adoption fee is $550 and includes my desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and I have been treated for fleas and worms.

Dax ~ 2.5 Year Old Cattle Dog X Kelpie

Dax is a friendly Cattle Dog x Kelpie x who is roughly 2 and half years old. This boy is looking for a new family who is wanting a great dog as part of their family.

Dax sleeps inside at nights and is currently outdoors during the day. He is toilet trained and has had basic training.

Dax would love an active family who enjoys exercise and would like a furry friend to take walking or running with. Ideally a good size yard or a property would be great for him.

Dax is amazing with kids especially little kids and he absolutely loves them so family time is a must for this young fellow. He also likes a bit of love and affection himself.

It would be ideal for Dax to be with another dog for company. He has always had a playmate! Dax hasn’t been exposed to cats or pocket pets.

Dax barks sometimes at things like a postie bike or whipper snipper. He does need high fences. He wouldn’t suit a family that works full time as he gets a little lonely without his humans around. He is a very loving dog. Could you be the family that Dax has been waiting for?

If you would like to meet Dax please contact Sharron who is taking enquiries for him on 0423331057 or email sstudley3@bigpond.com Cal is looking after Dax at Cameron Park and is available for adoption interstate.

Dax’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Buster ~ 7 Year Old Border Collie

Meet Buster! Buster is a loveable bundle of fun! He is a purebred Border Collie whose previous owner recently passed away and left him, Katie who is 9 years old and Gusto who is 8 years old all alone. Despite this, he has settled into his new environment very quickly and is in good spirits.

Although he is 7 years old, he definitely doesn’t act his age and he is able to keep up with the other young dogs in his foster home. Buster loves to play and tennis balls are his number one favourite toy. He loves a game of fetch and has learnt to chase after balls in the water.

Being a Border Collie, Buster is a very smart dog and knows some tricks! So far he can sit, drop and roll over and he is very motivated by food so would easily be able to learn more tricks.

Buster is very loyal and loves nothing more to be a part of the family. He will happily follow you around the house all day, but is very well behaved and won't whine or bark if left outside during the day.

Buster would best suit an active family with older children or a rural environment as he previously lived on a property. He would definitely be best in an environment where he has other dogs for company, he gets along with all dogs, large and small. He hasn’t been around cats.

As he is a Border Collie, Buster has a long coat which does shed and would need to be maintained with regular grooming and brushing.

Buster has so much love to give and anyone who adopts him would be rewarded with a best friend for life.

Please email Laura on lauraa1710@gmail.com to arrange a meeting if you are interested in adopting Buster. He would love to meet you! Busta is located in Wamberal on the Central Coast and is not available for adoption interstate.

Buster’s adoption fee is $300 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Sonny ~ 4 Year Old Kelpie X

Meet Sonny, a very handsome and lovable 4 year old Kelpie boy. Sonny is very affectionate and always got a smile no matter what. He is currently in foster with two other Kelpies, one male and one female and they all get along very well.

Sonny hasn't had the benefit of early training but is catching up now and learning his basic manners very quickly. He can sit and stay when asked and is working on lay down. He knows his name well and will almost always respond. He is house trained. He can be a little nervous when meeting new dogs but soon makes friends. He loves the company of another dog and would suit a home with another dog to keep him busy during the day.

Because of his small size, Sonny would be suited to a family with children of all sizes. However being a kelpie, he will also require plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Sonny is a lot more easy going than your typical energetic kelpie. He can happily curl up with you and do nothing for most of the day. All he is looking for your time and affection. This lovable boy is looking for a forever home for him to grow up with a family that loves him dearly.

Sonny spends his time outside whilst I'm away at work during the day. Most nights he sleeps outside with the exception of special treatment on weekends when he can sleep inside. In winter he'll need to sleep inside or have a coat and kennel undercover outside.

If you have any further questions or would like to meet with Sonny, please don't hesitate to message his foster carer Hayden at haydenrbell@hotmail.com Sonny is currently located at his foster home in Raymond Terrace, NSW vicinity and is available for adoption interstate.

Sonny’s adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
