Precious is a 12 week old, female, Bull Arab x puppy. She’s inquisitive, energetic and loves to play but she also loves snuggle time and just being with you.
Precious is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. Precious is very affectionate and sociable. She is living with 3 other dogs and a cat and they all play and get along well together.
She's a quick learner, comes when she’s called and sits at the door to go outside to the toilet. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. Precious will grow up to be a medium to large size dog.
It would be a great if you have a friendly, tolerant adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Precious. If you don't have another dog to keep her company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.
Precious needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. She will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
As Precious is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Precious, please contact her foster mum Jo by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Precious is in care in the Port Stephens area, NSW (north of Newcastle).
Precious's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Hi I’m Ollie. I am an 11 month old Labrador cross who my carer thinks is exceptionally handsome!
I love human company and going for walkies! I am learning very quickly to be good on lead but my carer, Claire, would like someone to get a walking harness for me as she says it is better for me.
I am a very good boy, I even know how to sit and shake on command. I am a very smart boy and would like some more training. I am still only young and very eager to learn lots of new things.
Apparently, my best feature is my golden eyes as you can see from my photos!
I currently sleep outside and have family time inside when my carer is home. I would love to be included as part of the family and to be allowed to interact when they are home. I haven’t been tested inside overnight so not sure if I would have any accidents. I would try very hard not too but happy to have some help with this.
I haven’t been around young children or many other dogs before but if you want to meet me to see how I go, I would be happy to meet you.
Please feel free to contact my foster mum, Claire if you have any questions on 0402 675 883 or email email@example.com. I live at Waratah West. If you think I could be apart of your loving family, please come and meet me…you will not be disappointed!
Ollie's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Robbie is a 9 week old, male, Bull Arab x puppy. Robbie is full of puppy love and affection. He is very inquisitive and likes to explore his surroundings, but he is also happy to just be by your side.
Robbie is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. He is currently living with 4 children and 5 other dogs of various ages and gets along well with all of them. He's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them.
Robbie will grow up to be a medium to large dog. He is a fast learner and already knows "sit" and we are currently working on "stay" however puppy school is recommended to give Robbie the best start. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Robbie. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.
Robbie needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).

Meet Steven; a 10-month-old Border Collie X with a lot of energy, character and love to give.
Steven is quite a sweet, loveable dog and he prefers nothing more than being able to be near you. Since coming into care he has been an inside/outside dog; spending sunny days outside and night times inside. He will usually sit at the back door (waiting to be let in) when he’s outside and when inside he’s usually at your feet. He’s not a nuisance inside and will happily lay on his bed or near wherever you are. When it’s bed time and after going outside to the loo, he stays on his bed all night, which is currently on the floor beside our bed.
Steven is quite the bundle of excitement and cheekiness. He is a working breed dog and does have a high energy drive, so he will need an owner or family who will be dedicated to exercising and training him. Steven knows basic commands, and will come when he’s called, but because of his high energy, he gets very excited and this can sometimes overshadow his manners. He is very food driven, so making him work for his meals or using treats for training would be the better way to go in getting results and establishing boundaries. Steven is not a menace or a destructive dog, but he does like to have a little chew at things because he is still a pup, so toys will come in handy. He hasn’t shown any interest in digging and he’s not much of a barker, only barking when new people arrive at the house.
He is currently living with two older dogs - 4yr old Border Collie X Kelpies, male & female and they have certainly taught him a lot, in doggy ways. He also shares the house with our 7yr old daughter and he absolutely adores her and all her friends. Steven just wants to be loved and showered in it, so he’s up for a pat and a cuddle anytime of the day. He also loves chasing and playing with the ball. Be it tennis, soccer or footy; he’s up for it. He loves his walks through the bush as well and whether he’s on or off a lead, Steven is never far from you; more often, than not, he’s at your feet. Off the lead, he will run up ahead maybe 20m and then turn around and come straight back; usually for a quick pat and a “good boy”, never wanting to lose sight of you. Steven has a lot to give and will really make a great companion/family dog. And because he is still young, he has a lot of potential to shine, given what he needs mentally and physically for his breed.
For more information or to meet Steven, please contact his foster carer Olivia on 0488 749 720 or email email@example.com. Steven is in foster care in Cessnock, NSW (Hunter Valley) and is available for adoption interstate.
Steven's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Meet Roxy, a confident little tail-wagging 12 year old Corgi x Fox Terrier. Roxy is a happy little lass and is proof that your twilight years can be the most fun!
Roxy is affectionate with her human friends - she loves cuddles and will happily hang out with you inside the house or out in the yard. She's primarily an inside dog but she also loves to have a play in the yard or at a nearby park. She is in foster care with a few small dogs and she plays chasings with them - she likes to show the youngsters that she can at least try to keep up with their zoomies. She is good with dogs of all sizes - she lived most of her life with a boxer.
Roxy loves balls (especially if they have bells in them) and she'll entertain herself playing with them and barking playfully for others to join in. She loves treats and isn't fussy with her food at all. If you are looking for a gal who will happily sit on your lap but who also has a zest for a life and activity then Roxy just may be your new best friend. She would love a canine companion - or would be happy as an only dog as long as she could socialise with other playful dogs at the park. She would love a small yard to play in but may also suit townhouse living.
Roxy is a sweet little girl with a skip in her step who would love her own adoring family to spend her senior years with.
If you would like more information on Roxy please contact Jo on email firstname.lastname@example.org . Roxy is located near Morisset on the NSW Central Coast.
Roxy's adoption fee is $250 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, microchipping, flea and worm treatment. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Lexi is a beautiful 3 year old cattle dog x kelpie girl. She is kind, obedient and very loyal.
Lexi is always eager to please those that care for her. She loves going for walks, open spaces and especially loves chasing birds. She is also happy to settle down for a nap in a nice cosy place early in the evening.
Lexi is in excellent health and loves being active. She will need exercising and a good run or long walk every day so would be suited to an active family or a rural environment with good secure fencing. She can be trained easily with food rewards. Lexi is an excellent guard dog too.
Lexi is somewhat shy and likes being around her human rather than a lot of people. She would be better suited to a family with confident children over the age of 13. She has been exposed to other dogs and plays really well with most dogs her own size. We are not sure how she would go with cats or pocket pets.
Lexi is a wonderful girl who will be your best friend for life.
For more information or to meet Lexi, please contact Donna on 0466 099 426 or email email@example.com. Lexi is in foster care in Merewether, NSW (Newcastle area) and is available for adoption interstate.
Lexi's adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Lottie is a beautiful 18 month old Wolfhound x girl who is an absolute smooch and is affectionate with everybody she encounters. She will sit at your feet and then flop herself over on her back to ask for a belly rub. Lottie is a smaller than many Wolfies - she has the softest eyes and a sweet temperament to match.
Lottie is well mannered and friendly towards dogs both big and small. She adores her foster brother who is a large mail Shepherd X – she plays with him all day and sleeps beside him. She would love to have a canine playmate in her new home who will be a good role model for her. She may also suit a family where there is someone working from home or at home during the day to spend time with her. Lottie has met a few children whilst out and about and has been friendly with them – she kindly accepts lots pats and hugs. She isn't boisterous or jumpy with them but is very affectionate so her new family would ideally have slightly older children who won’t be daunted by her love.
Lottie has learnt some polite manners whilst being in foster care - she will sit and wait for her dinner and will wait to be invited inside. She has nice behaviour when inside and is toilet trained. She sleeps inside on her doggy bed, however overnight she loves to sneak up on the lounge when no one is watching!
Lottie loves going out for walks and chooses to stick by your side the entire time. Her recall off leash is fantastic once she knows you - she will happily run around but will keep a keen eye on where you are. She is in foster care with a horse and shows little interest in him. She enjoys outings in the car and travels beautifully.
Lottie enjoys a good sized, grassy yard to run around in, she'll need 5 foot fencing to keep her safe and sound. She would enjoy a sandpit where you can hide treats for her to find.
Lottie is a gentle, sweet soul with so much love to give to her new family and truly deserves a special forever home to call her own.
For more information or to meet Lottie, please contact Jo on email firstname.lastname@example.org or 0427 695 104 (after business hours). Lottie is in foster care in Box Hill Sydney, NSW 2765 and is not available for adoption interstate.
Lottie's adoption fee is $350 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Buddy is a stunningly handsome German Short-haired Pointer who is 2 years and 4 months old. He is playful, loves company, and loves being with his humans.
Buddy, being a working breed, is extremely intelligent, eager to please, and has loads of energy. He is in excellent health and loves being active.
Buddy will need exercising and a good run or long walk at least once a day, so would suit an active person, couple, family or a rural environment with good secure fencing. He came from a military family, and can easily tolerate a 5-10km run daily. Around the home he loves a good long game of fetch, and could be trained easily with food rewards.
Buddy was surrendered to DRN through no fault of his own, when his family was re-posted overseas. He comes from a home with older children, and given his size and energy levels would be better suited to a families with confident children over 10. Buddy used to love going on car trips with his family to weekend soccer games, and would socialize well with dogs of a similar size. He can be a bit reactive to dogs on walks however and would benefit from further socialisation. He does not particularly like cats or lizards, but is not bothered by loud noises, the vacuum cleaner or storms. He would suit being an only dog, or having another similar dog for company if a meet went well. He is very people oriented, and would prefer to be home with his humans. He was used to being home alone for a portion of each weekday, but would prefer someone home more often than not.
Buddy is quickly responding to lead retraining with his new Halti, and he would love some ongoing training to teach him not to pull, as he is a rather big fellow. He knows sit, fetch, responds to his name, and is learning come, down, stay and go.
Buddy usually sleeps outside in his kennel at night time, but loves inside time when his family is home, and will happily lounge on his bed. He has not had any accidents inside in the past.
For more information or to meet Buddy, please fill out the adoption questionnaire on our website, and contact his foster carers Ian or Melanie on 0466 690 673 or email your questionnaire to email@example.com.
Buddy is in foster care in Adamstown, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Buddy's adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
My name is Mogwai - my nickname is Moggie and I'm a 6 month old female staffy x puppy. I’m as cute as a button and I have the most amazing perky ears that will make you smile! Everyone who meets me says that I’m totally adorable (if I do say so myself). I love to play with my big foster brother MicMac. I have a very chilled out and relaxed temperament .
I’m quite a shy personality type, so when new people come over I like to wait for my brother MicMacto meet them first and give them the thumbs up before I join in on play time and cuddles. I do love your cuddles once I know you are my friend. My big perky ears and staffy colouring make me look like a little toy bull-terrier – no matter what breed mix is in me there is no denying that I’m a gorgeous little treasure! I enjoy play time and like most puppies I don’t last long before I curl up in a ball with MicMac for a nap to recharge my batteries.
I'll probably be a medium size when I'm fully grown. I'll be better suited to a family with children over 8 years who are confident with medium sized, playful dogs. I'd love a daily walk with you as I enjoy checking out the neighbourhood.
Although I love playing I am also a really solid sleeper and I sleep soundly with my foster brother during the night. My foster mum says I would best suit a furever home with another canine playmate or someone who is home a lot. I need to be allowed inside when my family is home and sleep inside. I am very social and too young to be left alone for long periods of time. I would love to go to puppy-training classes when I’m a little older as they will give me the best start in life. I will need plenty of affection, exercise, and training from my new family.
If you would like to meet me, please contact my foster mum Gabbi on email firstname.lastname@example.org (preferred) or phone 0422 498 497 (outside business hours). I am in foster care near Gosford, NSW (Central Coast). I am not available for adoption interstate.
Mogwai's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Koda is a 2 year old, large, female, Mastiff x Cattle Dog cross, looking for a forever home. If you love big, friendly, loyal dogs, then Koda is your girl. She loves human company and is dreaming of a home where she is part of the family.
Koda loves getting a pat and is very gentle. We let her inside with us when we are home and she is outside during the day when at work. She currently sleeps on her bed inside with access to outside.
Koda is very calm and well behaved. She can sit for treats and responds very well to positive reinforcement training. She travels well in the car just rests quietly. Koda will bark at strange noises at the fence to let you know someone is there but is not a nuisance barker.
She is fine to live with another dog, preferably a younger doggy her size or a bit smaller. She's not suitable to live with cats.
Koda is mostly white with tan markings and lots of random tan/black patches, including a patch over her right eye. She weighs approx 20kg. Her shoulders are about 40cm from the ground. She was born on 29/12/2013.
Koda’s forever home will require a nice yard, secure fencing (minimum 6ft) and adequate shelter. She is very people oriented and needs a home where she gets plenty of people time inside, toys, and daily walks to stretch those long legs.
For more information or to meet Koda, please contact her foster carer Jane on 0408 632 257. Koda is in foster care in Tweed Heads, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
