Mishka

SINGLE DOG HOME.
Good with children and cats.

Hi my name is Mishka, I’m a beautiful girl with pedigree papers which my new owners will be given a copy of.
Sadly I was attacked by another dog in a park, it was such a bad dog attack it was life threatening, so since then I am scared of other dogs which means I need to have an experienced dog owner who will work on my fear issues which is fixable if you will put in the effort. SRV will pay for special training for me to overcome my fears so I’m really hoping that there is someone out there that will love me enough to put in a little effort to help me.
I’ve lived with children from baby’s to toddlers and even though I’m very good with them I can accidentally knock them over. Oh and I’ve lived with a cat who was the boss.
I know how to sit & stay sitting, I know how to drop and stay, I’m good on the lead but can pull if you let me.
I love to sleep in mink blankets, my owner gets them from the op shop for me, I also love my shell pool, I dig in the water and splash it everywhere, it’s so much fun, I also love the hose and will play with it when it’s turned on, I love the staffy ball and bungee rope.
There are some notes below on my behavioural assessment but please only apply for me if you’re willing to give me the help I need.
Summary of Test –summary of observation and testing
• Mishka has a generally calm demeanour but still has a good level of activity for her age
• She is sociable with people but does require you to coax her over
• Tolerant of touch and restraint
• Normal wariness to raised voice and loud sounds
• Nil reaction to whistle
• Nil resource guarding evident at time of testing
• Some basic skills but is not overly responsive when there are competing distractions
• Recommend some training to help manage/control her reactivity levels
Adoption Criteria
• Nil other dogs
Adoptability at present: High
So if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above, and, in return I will give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for! Angel

Hi my name is Angel, sadly I ended up in the pound so not much is known about me. As you can see by my photo’s I’ve been used as a breeding machine :(
I’m a really sweet little girl and just love cuddles and walks.
I take food gently, I walk well on the lead, I know how to sit,and when I play with toys I will even give them back to you which is rare for a Stafford Smile I can learn a lot more if someone will take me to obedience school.
Below are some notes on my behavioural assessment.
Summary of Test –summary of observation and testing
• Angel is a sociable girl with lots of energy and a high level of activity
• Becomes excitable very easily and tends to jump up quite a bit when this happens – has very little
spatial awareness
• She is tolerant to touch and restraint but is squirmy
• Angel knows sit (only just) but does not have any other obedience training
• Mid level drives – likes to tug but is respectful and gives the toy up
• High frustration levels – difficult to settle and again, is jumpy
• Nil resource guarding to food
• Nil reaction to environmental stimuli
• May be rude and rough in her approach to other dogs
Adoption Criteria
• Active individuals only
• Nil young children due to lots of jumping and high energy levels
• Not tested on cats
• Obedience, socialisation and impulse control is a must for Angel
So if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above, and, in return, I’ll give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for! Boo

Someone home a lot.
Single dog home.
No cats.

Hi my name is Boo. Hope you like photo's, how about the one with my tongue up my nose, I bet you can't do that.
Sadly family circumstances have changed and I need to find a new home.
I’m scared of loud noises, thunder & lightening and heavy rain.
I love my cuddles and belly rubs, they are my favourite things, I also love the shell pool filled with water. I would love to be with someone who is home a lot so that if a storm comes they can be there for me. I’m not house trained but will learn really quickly, SRV have a trick called a belly band which you can google, one of those will prevent me from messing inside the home.
I'm a very well behaved boy, I know how to sit, Shake hands, stay on the bed & wait for my food.
I would benefit from going to obedience school with my new owners, which I hope is really soon.
Below are some notes on my behavioural assessment.
Summary of Test –summary of observation and testing
• Booga is a sociable dog (seeks interaction with humans) but was a little stressed during the assessment
therefore some results may vary
• Lots of movement, running around with minimal investigation and lots of drinking (perhaps due to
elevated stress levels)
• High drive levels, especially with toy and can become a little obsessed with toy
• Somewhat tolerant to touch, is fine with a simple stroke but becomes a little mouthy when you try and
touch feet etc.
• Nil resource guarding evident at time of testing
• Is a little hard on the hand when taking treats
• Nil reaction to sudden environmental stimuli
• Has some very basic training – can pull a little on the lead whilst walking
• Dog test inconclusive but would recommend caution. Mostly ignores dogs, which does not mean he
wants to interact with them.
Adoption Criteria
• Active individuals only
• Not tested with cats
• Requires some stimulation and exercise
• Single dog household

Dixi

Single dog home due to resource guarding with my food.
Not tested with cats.

Hi my name is Dixi and I am a very lovely red girl. I turn 1 year old on the 24th of April.
I have lots of energy as I am still a puppy. Unfortunately my owners can’t look after me anymore so I need to find a new home.
I will need someone who is prepared to put time in to training, also spending time and looking after me properly. I need to go to obedience school so please don’t apply unless you are willing to put in the work.
I am good inside the house and am house trained. I have lived with young children who I love and I like to play with them. I can get very excited when I see them. I am very well behaved around people of all ages. I am good with other dogs but not when food is involved as I have resource guarding issues when it comes to my tucker.
I like to meet other dogs on walks which sadly there haven’t been many of. I would like to go on more walks, I’m good on when walked on a harness like the ones SRV have got. Generally I get along well with other dogs and I love playing with them.
Like many Stafford’s I tend to jump up on people but training and Obedience school will help me with this.
I am not used to the car but I can get used to it if you take me on short drives somewhere nice.
I am a loyal family dog so I think it’s time for me to get the love and attention I deserve. I will be having my behavioural assessment done in the near future along with some new photos, so I will update my profile then.
So, if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above, and in return I’ll give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for, please go to www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au. Here you will find all the information on the Adoption page, as well as links at the bottom.

Jagger

Single dog home.
Not tested with cats.
No small children – teenagers OK.

Hi, my name is Jagger and I am a big cuddly bear. I am a sweet little man looking for my forever home. Unfortunately I need a new place to live through no fault of my own. My current owners are not able to keep me as the other dog in the household keeps picking on me. I have lived with a family with young children my whole life, but I could accidently knock young ones over.
I would be super happy for someone to take me and give me the life I deserve. I would love to sleep inside with my new family and be near you as much as possible. Sadly I am not house trained as I was made to sleep outside which I hated but SRV have a trick to teach me not to pee in the house with a thing called a ‘Belly Band’- you can Google that if you like.
I am a very well behaved little boy, but I do get excited when I see people, so I can jump up and I don’t know my own strength. When cars pull up at the house I bark a little bit but it doesn’t last long. I am not used to going for walks but I’m sure I would like it. I love to run around outside with kids. I have had to amuse myself a lot and this made me sad, so having someone to play with is important to me. I need to go to obedience school like all dogs should, so if you are not willing to take me there then please don’t apply to adopt me.
Loud noises, thunder, lightning and fireworks scare me. I know how to sit, stay, walk and understand “good boy’. I haven’t been in a car so I’m not sure how I will go. The most important thing for me is to be with and around people, to be inside as much as I can and be looked after like I deserve.
In the near future I will be getting my behavioural assessment done, so will update my profile when that’s completed.
So, if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above, and in return I’ll give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for, please go to www.staffordshirerescuevictoria.org.au. Here you will find all the information on the Adoption page, as well as links at the bottom.
