**Tommy** (Car Accident Victim) - male dsh cat
Tommy is an extremely sweet and affectionate gentleman who was rescued from the streets of Western Sydney after being hit by a car. Now he URGENTLY needs some kind soul to give him a second chance!
For two years Tommy lived on the street and had a good run, receiving daily feeds and veterinary care, however last year his situation changed when one night Tommy had to weave through busy traffic, dodging cars, at dusk just to get his meal.
This evening as Tommy crossed the road he was struck by a car. He darted back across the road and out of sight and spent the next seven days hiding under a house in too much pain to return to be fed. Eventually, hunger got the better of him and looking skinnier and with his front left paw hanging down limply he emerged.
Tommy was taken to a vet and despite the incredible pain he must have been in, he was so grateful for the help that he was purring the entire time he was there. X-rays revealed that his leg was shattered – badly broken in three places. The vet gave two options – to have expensive surgery to insert a plate and several pins into the leg or to euthanise Tommy. His rescuer looked into Tommy’s deep green eyes and, despite being unable to afford the surgery, knew that he deserved another chance to experience the good life. A few days later the vet operated and successfully pinned the leg and inserted a plate. He was stitched up and left to recover at the vet for a week before she was able to take him home. Over the last few months Tommy's leg has completely recovered. He has no trouble getting around at all - not even a limp!
He still has an amazingly loving and gentle nature, and purrs and rubs up to his human companions to show his gratitude.
WLPA want Tommy to be able to leave his street life behind. Tommy is only 3 years old but his carer describes him as an ‘old soul’ with a great depth of character. This gentle and affectionate boy is URGENTLY seeking a loving ‘forever’ home where he will be considered part of the family and where he can get all the love and attention he deserves. He just needs someone to give him a second chance.
He is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea-treated as well as fully equipped with his own snug cat bed and toys!
Can you give poor Tommy a second chance at happiness?
