Little Skye - female kelpie puppy

Skye is an intelligent, gentle puppy with a pretty chocolate and tan coat. She has had a rough start to life and takes a while to relax and warm up to strangers, but there is a friendly, playful affectionate girl waiting just behind the nervous puppy that Skye is when shes in a new situation. She is looking for a patient family to take her into their lives, treat her gently and help her to settle in slowly. She is always going to be a shy dog with atrangers, but in the right environment she will make a very rewarding and loyal friend for her special people.

Skye absolutely loves her doggy mates and plays well with them. When mature she will be a medium sized athletic dog with high exercise needs, and she will excel at learning new things.

Poor Skye broke her hind leg and it required surgery to fix it. It was a clean break and her prognosis for a full recovery is excellent. However, it will be several more weeks till Skye can go to her new home, but in the meantime we are happy to talk to anyone who might be interested in adopting her.

We would also be delighted to hear from anyone who might be prepared to donate towards the costs of Skyes vet work. The bill for her broken leg exceeded $1000, and as we are a not for profit organisation, her care has put a big hole in our finances. This will affect our capacity to rescue other dogs. Even a small contribution will be very gratefully received.
