Rosie - small female guinea pig
Rosie was surrendered to the shelter on the 18/9/2008 with 4 other piggies as their family purchased a puppy who killed 5 of their piggies so we picked up the remaining 5 before any harm could be done to them. Rosies DOB is approx May 2007. She was very friendly until she witnessed all her babies killed by the puppy and was traumatised. She is currently with a foster carer gaining trust in humans again. If you have an extra special quiet home we would love to hear from you.
We prefer our piggies to be kept indoors or on a veranda or somewhere where they can see you and you can see them as we find that piggies get forgotten when left out the back in a lawn hutch. Guinea Pigs must be kept in a cool shady spot throughout summer as they will die from heat stroke very quickly. If you have your Guinea pigs outside please also make sure that they are kept out of the rain.
*Please Note ~ ACS guinea pigs are NOT to be used for breeding, we wish for only the best loving new forever homes for our precious adoptable guinea pigs*
To make an appointment to come and meet our precious piggies our adoption terms and duty of care conditions must first be read and agreed with. You will find them at www.australiancavysanctuary.com/adopt.htm
Thanks and we look forward to meeting you soon.
