Sahara - small female whippet x dog

Picture of SaharaSahara is an unusual looking little girl, with a zest for life and a heart of gold. Loving people and other dogs, Sahara gets around with a smile on her little face and is always up for a game.

Sahara is learning quickly and can sit on command and come when called. She is extremely intelligent and is responsive and keen to learn and please you with her new tricks - her latest being learning to play fetch. She also travels very well in the car, is house trained and sleeps quietly through the night.

Sahara is quite endearing with her gentle way with interacting with humans and she will be loyal to her family. We have discovered that she loves older children/teenagers and very quickly becomes their best buddy when they stay at our farm - she loves to run with them and play fetch and when it is time to go inside she is curled up on their laps (and the children adore being made feel so special by her). She is a great companion for older kids. As she is still a puppy, she may jump up on toddlers or may see their toys as her own.

Sahara adores games with doggy friends and loves to show them how fast she can run and loves to play tricks on them by ducking and weaving so that they never know which way she is going to go. She also loves to wrestle with the other dogs and share her toys with them in a game of tug-o-war or chasies (we often find her dangling a toy in front of one of the dogs noses in the hope of a starting a game). Her latest new talent in this field is enjoying games around the dam and finally has found the courage to swim rather than just paddle.

Sahara is such a happy and gorgeous pup with plenty of love to give, a great personality, lots of energy, an unusual look and coat colour and a keenness to learn - a real gem - a wonderful companion!

Sahara has also shown herself to be okay around dog friendly cats that tend not to run when they see a dog.

As Sahara is an active girl, her new family will need to give her plenty of exercise and games. She would thrive from the further training her family will need to provide as she is still just a puppy with her life ahead of her (the photos seem to make her look taller than she is in real life, only around 39-40cm at the shoulder). With her lively personality, intelligence, keenness to please and slight build, Sahara would make an excellent Flyball/agility dog/dog sports dog.
