Lort Smith Animal Hospital and Shelter is a not for profit organization that is dedicated to finding loving homes for animals in need. The Lort Smith Shelter is located within the Lort Smith Animal Hospital (biggest animal hospital in the southern hemisphere), which is situated in North Melbourne. All animals adopted from the Lort Smith Shelter have been fully vet checked, temperament tested, de-sexed, microchipped and vaccinated. The cats over 6 months old have been FIV tested and the dogs over 6 months have been Heart Wormed Tested. The shelter likes to ensure that all animals that are going into their new forever homes are all fit and healthy. The Shelter is open between then hours of 9:30am - 3:30pm, 7 days a week. Lort Smith Animal Hospital can not accept stray animals, therefore all the animals that are up for adoption have been living in a home enviroment previously to being surrendered. Feel free to pop in and visit the lovely cats and dogs that are up for adoption, the friendly staff will be able to guide you and hopefully be able to find your new best friend!
