Rigbys Rescue Inc. is an all volunteer organisation who dedicate their time, money and emotional energy into saving a small number of dogs each year that would have otherwise met their fate at the pound or in other undesirable situations. We aim to raise awareness about the pet overpopulation situation in Australia. We are also committed to promoting responsible pet ownership. This includes: education about the consequences of buying a dog from a pet shop; the importance of always desexing your dog; encouraging compliance with local and state animal ownership laws; and advice about choosing the right dog for you and/or your family. Rigbys Rescue Inc. operates without making a profit and relies on kind donations from its members and the public. All members share the combined purpose of reducing the number of adoptable dogs euthanased in Australian pounds through means of education and hands-on rehoming of a small number of dogs. Rigbys Rescue Inc. operates in the greater Melbourne area and focuses on rescuing dogs from Victorian pounds
