DABS stands for Domestic Animal Birth-control Society. DABS is a non-profit registered charity, and any funds raised from the adoption of our dogs and cats is entirely put towards the costs involved in the rescue, rehabilitation, vet fees, ongoing feeding and care needs of our animals. All animals we rehome are vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, desexed and are heartworm tested. Most of all, they are loved, but need your ongoing love and patience, and a nice snuggly bed at night! DABS also provides discounted desexing for low income, needy people wishing to have their pets desexed. We encourage this as it helps prevent unwanted litters - many of which end up in our pounds, or worse, euthanised. For further information about the Society's aims see our website. ***Dabs are always in need of dedicated reliable foster carers. We have no shelter or boarding facility of our own and rely entirely on volunteers who generously open their homes to pound animals and care for them until adoption. A life is saved every time a foster carer can take an animal from death row. ***
