About Eli
Introducing this gentle baby - Eli
Eli is a nearly 9 month old fur baby who has a huge heart and is searching for his forever home.
Eli is also officially the first place winner of the Paw Prints Canine Rescue weirdest sleeping positions competition hands down!
While he has mastered the above competition don’t let that be the things you remember most about him – Eli is a big baby who just loves to be around his people – he loves nothing more than going for a walk, hanging out in the backyard, watching TV or snuggling on the bed with his family.
This big boy loves attention and affection almost as much as he loves to go for walks and play with his family. Eli’s favorite place to go is the dog park – he has worked out that means he has a captive audience of new friends that can’t run off on him.
Eli is still working on his recall – we would recommend someone who is happy to continue the training that the rescue has started and the key words we would be saying is consistency and patience – Eli can be stubborn sometimes when he wants to be but then he is still a baby so it’s something we believe can continue to be worked with.
Eli has been learning to walk on a lead and currently a harness is used – this is to help as he can get a bit excited when he sees a bird or another dog and just wants to be their new BFF!
Eli is a typical big breed pup who doesn’t understand his size so from time to time he will measure your lap size to see if he fits still (even if he doesn’t he will give it a go!)
Eli loves other dogs and has no understanding that not every dog wants to be his friend – he loves nothing more than playing with his fur siblings, sleeping on them, over them, under them. He loves going to the beach and making friends with anyone and everyone (human and other dog). Eli will try and steal the other dogs toys (despite massing a pile of his own to play with) this currently does annoy his foster brother who will remind him that sharing is required – Eli will take a telling off and still want to be best friends 5 minutes later.
Eli is easily made happy – a quick ‘hey boy’, a cuddle or especially some play time will see this giant become a small pup, whilst he thinks he is teeny tiny we do suggest that he will need to be supervised around young kids if they are not used to big breeds – simply because he is a big boy who is still a pup and still working on how far you can accidentally bump a child before they go flying - he has been raised with kids before coming into care and loves kids.
Whilst Eli’s ideal home would be someone who could be with him 24/7 he is happy with entertaining himself when his humans are not home – he choose his toys (stuffed toys are only under supervision or a crime scene can occur) and Eli loves to swim in the pool (or the beach) so hopefully a family who would love for him to join them in the water – he can show you how he does his dog paddle!
Eli does like to sleep with his fur siblings at night – currently he does sleep inside on a big dog bed and would be something he would very much like to continue to do. Eli is toilet trained and no accidents have ever occurred. Eli is not a dog that can simply be outside for long periods of time without human contact.
Eli is just going to continue some of his crazy sleeping positions while he waits for his forever home

If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
