About Link
LINK...
12 week old Male Kelpie X
**- DO NOT -APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET SPECIFIC CRITERIA, OR YOU WILL NOT BE RESPONDED TO..
There is no doubt that Link is very cute. Do not apply for this reason alone.
Link is a “special needs” pup, he was born deaf & blind due to irresponsible breeding.
His health otherwise is 100 %.
Abandoned and left for dead, he has proven to be a very clever boy who has picked up some starter training quickly.
Example is that he learned to use a dog door in 2 hours and is now house trained.
He moves around confidently and once he maps a floor plan, you would second guess his lack of eyesight.
Training for this lad is undertaken in the form of touch.
Link travels well in the car, he mostly sleeps during the journey.
Eats anything, not food fussy.
Gets along with all dogs big & small, he plays well although still learning that not everyone wants to play all the time.
Link will need a doggy companion, male or female.
Although he is more than happy to spend time on his own and play on his own, an older brother or sister will assist him to develop further as he grows. He will need a guide dog when outside of his home.
He has not taken to leash training much at this stage however, if he was tethered to another dog who is his consistent companion, this would become easier with time.
He is a very easy boy to have around the home..other than a bit of puppy chewing..
He corrects very well when redirected, he follows on direction, starting to sit on direction but these skills need a lot of time and repeating to instil a consistent behaviour so that when he is an adult, he will be able to understand what you want from him without confusion.
Only dedicated owners will be considered for adoption.
