On Hold
About Makani - Located in Northcote
Makani loves simple things in life: sleeping on the sofa, hiding his toys under the rug and boiled chicken.
He was rescued from a hoarding situation so he is shy. He doesn’t know what cuddles are but, although suspicious at first, he abandons himself to head scratches and caresses. He is very bonded with his little brother Saroo, so couple adoption would be preferred.
Makani means wind in Hawaaian, this comes from his zooming around. He is diagnosed with moderate Cerebellar Hypoplasia, please see medical notes. Makani has 4 other CH siblings available for adoption.

Medical notes
The adoption fee includes desexing, microchip, current vaccination, flea and worm treatment while in care. No health issues unless listed below.
Makani has been diagnosed with moderate Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a condition that doesn’t get worse over time, the cat will adjust and learn to cope with it. It affects coordination so that cats have wobble walks but otherwise enjoy the same long and fulfilling life of any other cats. He is litter trained and clean, totally independent. Check out CH facebook group (with 17K members), youtube videos or Instagram stories. CH cats need to be indoor and preferably only cat unless with siblings (because they can’t defend themselves) and would need a carpeted or non-slippery floor to walk around with ease (no wooden boards).
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue would like to help ensure you and your new companion have a long and happy life together.
If you should find that you are not a purrfect match - or if you need to rehome your cat at any stage of its life - Maneki Neko Cat Rescue will take the cat back into care and find a new home.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue provides a 7 day health warranty on all adoptions.
Although all our cats and kittens are health checked prior to adoption, sometimes the stress of a new environment can upset their immune system.
