About Skip
Skip is a beautiful, gentle soul. He is a medium to large size mix breed pup. We guess he has a bit of a greyhound (long legs and tail), shepherd and maybe kelpie in him. Possibly also other breeds. He has a very friendly face, gorgeous smile and intelligent, kind eyes. And have you seen his cute, uniquely shaped ears that seem nearly too small for his body?
He settled into our home straight away. He is a low to moderate energy level dog who just likes to walk around the backyard doing a bit of sniffing, rolling in the grass, enjoying sunshine to then relaxing next to you with a nice, gentle and quiet cuddle.
We think he would suit someone who works part or full time as he doesn’t seem overly needy or anxious when we leave. He just sleeps when left alone. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by household noises, barking dogs or birds. He doesn’t bark, chew or dig.
He loves going for a walk. His lead manners need a bit of work. He doesn’t overly pull but because of his size it would be nice to teach him how to walk nicely next to you. He is very food oriented so training shouldn’t be difficult. He sits for food. He is good with other dogs, he says hi to some of them. He ignores the others. We think he would be suitable to a family with older children (8-9+) who understand and can respect the dog’s personal space. We discovered he is sensitive to being touched on certain body parts, namely his chest, stomach and paws so family with energetic and a bit unpredictable toddlers may not be suitable. He didn’t experience the best start in life so he definitely deserves a loving and caring family who can offer him a warm bed, cuddle and supportive and calm environment.
