About Sassy ~ 5yr Neo Mastiff ~ Pending Adoption 9/2/21
What to expect when you meet Sassy, our adorable 5 yr old Neo x English Mastiff.
As you walk towards her, Sassy greets you with a wagging tail and a massive smile. She is a large girl but as she slouches towards you, you can't help but give her entire body a rub. Being a gentle girl, she loves to lean on you and if you let her, she will also be a lapdog but she doesn’t quite fit. Everyone that has met her falls in love with her, and although her name is Sassy, that is not her nature.
Sassy has come into care due to no fault of her own. She was given up for adoption as the other dog she lived with did not like her. Due to her size, other dogs may react to her but she has shown no reaction to any dog since being in care. All she wants to do is mosey about, sleep all day and of course get some much deserved love and attention. She is good on the lead and very well behaved. She knows basic commands but loves it when you ask her to sit or lay down.
Sassy would suit being an only dog (as she is interested in laying about and getting as much human attention as she can) or sharing with another big, lazy male dog that is not reactive to her. Any dog she is matched with must be easy going and not dominant as she has been bullied previously .
Sassy is great meeting children and loves all human company- however we will only be considering homes with large breed experience and Mastiff experience would be ideal. Sassy has met a cat in her new foster home and with the right management she may suit a home with a cat.
Sassy is a highly socialised girl who will suit a highly social lifestyle - her ideal home is one in a dog friendly suburb (inner city suburbs like Newtown ) where dogs are welcome everywhere . She is certainly a doggy cafe girl. She would be fine in a townhouse with a smaller sized yard or may even suit apartment living with someone who works from home and understands the quirks of having a large dog in a small space. Sassy must sleep inside - she wants to be where her humans are .
