About Boyka
Due to COVID-19 and the closure of most state borders I can only be adopted in NSW (and maybe ACT). Please don't ask about Boyka if you live in another state as we will say NO.
My name is Boyka and I am a two and a half year old male German Shepherd whose family have had to make the hard decision to find me a new home.
I am still a puppy but am a big boned strong boy and can get excitable and still want to play a lot.
I have had some basic training but being a young dog can do with more. I am very strong big boy weighing abut 50 kilos.
I will sometimes bark and chase cats so I can't go to a home with cats, small dogs or pocket pets. I am living on my own at the moment but may be able to go to a home with another social dog.
I am a very intelligent dog with a lot of energy, and so I need to be kept stimulated and busy.
I have a lot of energy so I am looking for a home with an energetic person or couple, who have recently had a German Shepherd and understand the time, commitment and on going training I will requirement.
I would be best suited to a home where I will be an integral family member.
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherd and think you have the energy to give me a new home, then please select the "Enquire about this Pet"
Medical notes
Boyka is microchipped and on heart worm prevention. He will be desexed and vaccinated before going to his new home.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
