About Orbit
Orbit is a male black Labrador raised and trained in the Assistance Dogs Australia program. He is 18 months old, he is desexed and is looking for his forever home!
Orbit is a lovable and affectionate boy. He is very playful, energetic and happy. He is a highly intelligent and motivated dog, so he requires mental and physical stimulation. Orbit enjoys training and being challenged so proper mental stimulation will further help him learn and maintain the cues that he has learnt so far.
Although Orbit has shown some great qualities during his time in the Assistance Dogs Australia training program, we have decided that he is not suitable to be placed as an Assistance Dog. Orbit does display some sensitivity issues and can be opportunistic around food. This is manageable however he would benefit from going to a neat and tidy home. Orbit also loves to chew. When Orbit does find his ideal home he will benefit from some initial training to help him settle into his new environment.
All Assistance Dogs are accustomed to spending most of their time with humans so Orbit’s ideal person or family would spend a lot of time at home with him. He also thrives on routine and would love to go to someone who leads an active lifestyle.
Orbit is social with other dogs. If there is another dog in the home he goes to, we would like Orbit to meet them. Orbit needs to be walked daily and would love to have a yard to play in.
Orbit is a healthy young dog. Vaccinations and parasite protection have been kept up to date. If you think Orbit could be the right dog for you or you have any further questions, please email Mel at mwatson@assistancedogs.org.au so that I can pass on an application form for you to complete.
