About Eddie
š¤ EDDIE IS READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME š¤
āHey friends, my name is Eddie and Iām really hoping to find my happily ever after. I have had two chances at a happily ever after, but because I am a sensitive boy, I really find it hard to fit in to some places. The Catters have come to realise that I find it a bit stressful to live with other cats and kittens, and I really just need a quiet home with older people who are ready to support me in the ways that I need. I have had a few issues along the way and a traumatic event where my vet thinks that I was attacked by a dog, and thatās how I came to be with the Catters. I couldnāt walk properly, and I had a bad infection covering almost my whole leg! Iām very lucky to have been rescued when I was. Because of my wounds, Iāve been left with a permanent limp, but it adds character, I guess. And I do unfortunately have arthritis. My vet has just started me on a new medication which should help me, but we are still waiting for that to kick in. Could you maybe give me a chance by fostering me in your home?ā
Eddie requires a dog free home due to his past trauma and injuries. He also needs a home without other cats and is better suited to a family with older kids or no kids. Eddie will be sent home on a foster care only period while our vet continues to assess his health. Anyone wishing to consider adopting Eddie will be welcome to do so as we learn more about his current leg issues.

Medical Note: Eddie has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which is a viral disease that can interfere with the immune system of the infected cat. As this virus progresses slowly, many cats go undiagnosed and those that are diagnosed can live years without showing signs of illness. Owners of cats that are FIV positive should pay close attention to signs of illness and seek veterinary treatment early to prevent a worsening condition, as the virus weakens the catās immune system. It is estimated that between 14-29% of cats in Australia and New Zealand are infected with FIV.
Important: FIV positive cats must be kept indoors or confined to a secure cat run to prevent spreading the virus which is usually transmitted through saliva entering the body through deep bite wounds. This also prevents them from acquiring other illness and disease. To eliminate the risk of FIV transferring to other cats, TMC Inc. will only adopt FIV+ cats to homes without cats, or homes that already have an FIV+ cat.
If you would like to arrange a meet and greet with Eddie, please fill in the adoption application: https://madcattersinc.formstack.com/forms/adoption_application or email madcattersrescue@outlook.com.au for more information.
Our cats and kittens thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue animal āØ
