On Hold
About Tommy ~ 9 w/o kitten (on trial 24/1/21)
PLEASE NOTE: Tommy is available to a home in the Newcastle/Hunter/Central Coast area only as he will have to be desexed at one of our local vets when he is 3-4 months old.
Tommy was the last of the kittens of his litter to be caught, 3 weeks after his 7 siblings. He was covered in fleas and sawdust, he was spitting and hissing and would growl when you went near him. After a day to settle down, bathed, wormed and flea treated, he went in with his 2 brothers who were already in care. He was so scared that he would hiss, growl and bat them over the head. He would hideaway, scared and confused.
He has come such a long way in a short time and every day he is becoming more affectionate, playful and less frightened. He will play with his 2 brothers, he will even sleep cuddled up with them. He is still a little frightened by sudden movement but doesn't hiss, spit or growl anymore. You can pick him up and cuddle him and he loves it. He is such a sweet boy and with a little more time he will be the perfect companion.
Tommy will need to go to a quiet home with no young children. He will either need someone who is home a lot or another cat friend in the home. We are unsure what he would be like with dogs but if he were to go to a home with a dog, they would need to be calm and used to cats.
Tommy is available for adoption to an indoor-only home in the Newcastle/Hunter/Central Coast Area only and his adoption fee is $250.
Tommy is in foster care in Aberglasslyn, NSW and is already vaccinated and microchipped but will need desexing at a local vet when he is big enough, which will be covered by Dog Rescue Newcastle. If you're interested in adopting this handsome boy, please click on this link to apply!
