Medical Notes:
1. Jock has a congenital eye condition called eyelid agenesis, where his eyelid has not completely formed on his right eye. The biggest risk with eyelid agenesis is that the lash layer grows in towards the cornea of the eye, causing ulcers and scaring. As a kitten, Jock had a severe ulcer on his affected eye that has since mostly healed. He has also undergone two surgeries to remove the eyelashes that can cause irritation and ulceration with a specialist vet. Due to the severity of his condition the specialist vet believes that Jock’s vision is affected, however this does not impact his day to day life. Jock will need to have his eye closely monitored for irritation, as the lash line may grow back in some instances. This has also caused the hair around his affected eye to grow back white after surgery.
2. Jock also has a Grade 4 Heart Murmur. This was investigated by a specialist cardiologist and found to be an ‘innocent murmur’, and requires no intervention at this time. This will be something that Jock’s new family will need to keep an eye on at annual vet checks. Jock has been in care since he was three weeks old and the heart murmur has remained unchanged in that time .
ABOUT
Jock is a gorgeous, sweet and loving little man with a heart of pure gold. He had a soft and fluffy black and white coat, with little white socks. Jock absolutely loves his humans, and is very partial to cuddle time whether you’re ready for him or not!
Jock is quite a large cat, and is well over 4kg at about 9 months of age. Like many growing lads, he is ruled by his stomach and is very willing to accept any and all treats. He is a very social boy, and enjoys having a chat with you if he wants some attention. He also makes friends with all the resident animals, and will take turns at grooming and playing with his furry siblings in his foster house.
Jock will need a special home with another fur friend to keep him company and use up his energy. A human that is around a lot for cuddles is an added bonus. Jock has some complex medical notes that come with his adoption profile, and will need a caring and loving human to welcome him into their heart and home.
