About Sylvia - Located in Clifton Hill
Sylvia is a gorgeous tuxedo cat whose beauty cannot be captured in photos. You will have to see her with your own eyes to truly appreciate how adorable she is. At around 2kg, she is petit yet strong. Her coat is remarkably soft and her eyes are big, bright, and captivating.
Looks aside, Sylvia is shy and self-contained. Coming from challenging circumstances as a stray before being rescued, Sylvia is looking for a home where she can come out of her shell at her own pace. Late-2020, Sylvia had kittens and shone as a mother. Now that all her babies have found fur-ever homes of their own, it is well and truly Sylvia's time to settle down for good.
Slowly but surely, Sylvia makes daily efforts to be more and more brave, exploring new parts of the house and allowing more and more pats from the humans. Sylvia is currently happiest tucked away under the bed during the day, accepting pats and food treats whenever the humans feel like it. Her purr is loud and loving, and she enjoys a good scratch behind the ears. Sylvia, realising how nice pats are, is starting to warm to paw massages and belly rubs.
At night is when Sylvia comes alive. She marches out from her snoozy den to explore the house and look out the window at birds and bats. She will meow occasionally (but quietly) for food, or to say "hi" but she does not yet come up to the human.
Slow and steady is key with Sylvia. She will take some time to come out of her shell (and who can blame her?) but her progress thus far is promising. Sylvia would love to settle down in a quiet house without kids or dogs. She might like a kitty-roommate, but only one who is happy to let her explore at her own pace.
If you are up for the challenge of showering Sylvia with love and ready for the joy of watching her blossom, then Sylvia is the cat for you.
If you are intrigued by Sylvia but are not sure if you're up for the challenge, we encourage you to have a chat with us (the foster carers) to learn more about this sweet kitty.
