About Reggie
2.5-year old Reggie is on the lookout for his forever home.
Like so many greyhounds are, Reggie was dumped at a kennel when his trainer/owner no longer wanted him for racing. However, Reggie is one of the lucky pups… he found his way to Amazing Greys and onto the couch of a loving foster family, where he gets the royal treatment he truly deserves.
Reggie is a calm and chilled out greyhound. He likes to relax at home with his humans and loves playing with his toys. He is currently living in an apartment and has no issues with the smaller space. However, Reggie does find the noises of inner-city Melbourne a bit intimidating and would prefer it if his forever home were in a quieter suburb or at least a nice, quiet street. A home with some yard/outdoor space would be ideal as he could have extra playtime at home while he gets used to the sights and sounds of his local neighbourhood.
Reggie is house-trained and goes for two walks each day plus a couple of toilet breaks. He enjoys going for walks but only on the quieter streets, and will freeze if there is too much traffic or it gets a bit noisy for him. He doesn’t pay a lot of attention to other dogs on walks and has not had a chance for socialisation with other breeds yet. He is not small-dog friendly but provided he has some space from them on walks, is not reactive.
Reggie has spent up to 5 hours home alone and is happy to chill out on the couch (or sneak onto his human’s bed). He could potentially be suited to a home with FT workers but would need a dog-walker for toilet breaks or indoor/outdoor access.
Reggie has not had much interaction with children but is a friendly boy. However, he doesn’t like too much noise and asks that his new home is calm and chilled out. For this reason, he would best suit a home with adult only, or a family with 1 or 2 quiet older kids.
