About Gus
Gus (also known as Gus-Gus) is big in stature and big in heart.
He’s got a lot of love to give so if you want to be adored - Gus is your guy.
This big softie is very chill and doesn’t mind just quietly taking in the world or better yet - he’ll be in heaven if he can have a good snore next to your feet all day.
He gets along great with other dogs, he has really bonded with his puppy foster brother, and is gentle with smaller dogs too.
He picks up things quickly - he can sit, stay, has good manners when being given food, listens to “no”, has learnt his bed is his spot, brings the ball back when thrown and responds well to his name.
He’s been learning to trust that people are coming back when he’s left alone and has significantly improved already, all he needs is someone who’s going to reinforce that trust over time. He will rest his head on your lap or chest for hours while you play with his ears - that’s really the way to his heart.
He’s picked up walk etiquette well but will need someone who can keep showing him the ropes. Gus is a bigger boy, and he loves to lie on the grass so definitely would like a house with a bit of a yard for him to stretch out his long legs, he’s not super active but he doesn’t mind a bit of wander around it every now and then.
Cats interest Gus a little too much so preferably a cat-free house. He likes the company of others so would like a home where either a dog or a human who can keep him company for most of the day. He’s a very gentle giant but still is best not to be around smaller children.
He currently has canine allergic dermatitis that is being treated by medication and will need to be monitored ongoing as it could be seasonal - however, it doesn’t seem to bother him all that much as he doesn’t scratch or lick.
