About Sid The Magnificent!
Sid started as a small fluffy cute grey & white kitten. He was adopted at 10 weeks old and was utterly adorable. Then he grew up and grew into his full personality along with astonishing amounts of long luxurious fur. He truly was magnificent!
Five years on, Sid's luxurious fur was badly matted and his temper had gone from somewhat snippy to downright shirty. He was surrendered by his owners as they felt that they could not give him the attention he needed. Sid turned out to be a reactive, cranky, snippy cat with a mean right swipe. He was booked in to our vets for a full body shave, leaving him looking like a poodle groomer had gotten to him. We were hoping that with the matting gone, his snippyness and swipeyness would diminish and he'd be a lovely sweet cuddly cat.
Alas Sid still has a temper, any bare ankles and toes are fair game, and he ended up with the moniker Sid Snot because of his utterly charming manners (named after a character from the Kenny Everett Show -->> https://youtu.be/NmYQGFm1WhQ)
Sid seems to have taken a leaf out of Mr Biggles Art of Bastardry book and is alternately charming and adorable, helpful and sweet, fussy and fractious, and downright snotty and swipey. And you never know which Sid you're going to get. He's also a rotten bully that chases the carers cats around the house and has attempted to terrorise the dog (who takes no rubbish from cats and gives it straight back).
We believe that with the right understanding human servant, Sid Snot could metamorphose into a sweet lovely cat with occasional 'cat of character' outbursts. He's taken to helping his carer with any work on the laptop, and loves lying around close to her looking beautiful in his floofy pantaloons. He could even grow into Sweet Sid (but no promises!).
Any adopter will need to be dedicated to having him regularly groomed, and not take any grumbling and swiping personally. He's just a shitty kitty sometimes. If you are that person, you will be rewarded with chirps, head rubs, condescending eating of fishy food, and assistance while working from home. Oh and get a good vacuum cleaner, you'll need it!
If you've been looking for a large fluffy cat with character that is definitely not boring, send an enquiry in now. Sid is ready to audition his next 'owner' right now!
Sid is a healthy cat who only eats the most expensive tasty tinned food and turns his nose up at raw, because he's just fussy as heck. We're working on the raw feeding but so far, no luck. Sid has been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped (microchip #982000363325919, source #RE101165) and he is available for adoption today! His adoption fee also includes his second vaccination at one of our rescue vets.

To adopt a cat from Cat People you'll be required to have a remote or in-person house check done, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Cats from our group are all are vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being taken home by their adopters. Additionally, all of our cats have been evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and well socialised. Please note: all Cat People cats and kittens are indoor only, this is not negotiable.
We will communicate with you through every step of the adoption process to ensure that your experience (and the cat's) is excellent and that you are confident in your decision to adopt a feline companion. Returns are only accepted due to health issues confirmed by a veterinarian.
We only accept adoptions from people with residency in Australia. If you are on a work or student visa, talk to us about fostering with the group instead!
