About Gracie
Hi, my name is Gracie. 2020 for me has been a tough year. My mum had to surrender me to the good folk at Cat Haven as she wasn't able to care for me any longer. The lovely staff at Cat Haven took me in and now I'm ready to find my next forever home.
I arrived at Cat Haven so very scared. The staff knew underneath my façade there was a beautiful sweet girl. You see I was born with my eyelashes growing inwards, rubbing on my eyes, and so for everyday of my life I was in pain. You know what its like to get an eyelash in your eye....so you understand how first 7 years of my life were.....not pleasant!
The great news is the amazing team at Cat Haven arranged for me to have an operation with an eye surgeon vet to fix my eye lashes. I am completely recovered and experiencing many wonders for the first time. When my eyelashes grow back they will be where they should be, pointing outside and protecting my eyes like they are meant to do. I am so lucky to get this second chance of having a great life.
I have just one more wish to make my life fulfilled. That is to find a quiet home, with no other pets (or little people) where I can build trust with my hooman and give so much joy in return. I love to jump on the bed for a pat, I like to lay looking up at the sky. I like my food but am not food obsessed.
When I went to stay with my foster mum I was so scared and scratchy (aka grumpy), however in less than 24 hours in the safety of my own room I let her pat me and I rubbed against her legs. I am frightened of loud noises, I think that's because I relied on my sense of sound so heavily when my eyes were misbehaving. Now they are all better I am slowly getting better with sounds. My foster mum moves slowly, talks to me so I know where she's going and she doesn't startle me. I love a brush, lots of pats and have been known to give you my tummy for a rub. I need a new home where my purrents are patient, caring, will let me go at my own pace until I am comfortable. I am learning to play and enjoying doing what cats do after being in pain for so long.
I have everything crossed I will find my new home before Christmas. It's all I want for Christmas!
Please come meet me in my foster home in Mount Lawley.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
