About Leo
This is Leo, he is a 11.5 year old sweet, chonky chonk of a boy. He is VERY food motivated and has no shame in assuming that any dinnerware you touch is for him. He will literally follow plates blindly, to the point of walking in to walls because he doesn't take his eyes off of the food. He does the cutest bleps and he sits on his haunches really well (probably because his centre of gravity is so big!). He'll meet you halfway when you're lowering his food for him. He has soft, gently meows and only really meows when expecting food.
We have 2 dogs and 2 other cats in the house. Leo would definitely rather avoid confrontation than encourage it but he will hiss and swipe at the dogs when they don't respect his boundaries. He is very curious about the cats and I think he would like to be with another cat. Mine are just a bit too spoiled to accept another cat at the moment. Leo would follow my girl around (at a safe distance) and then bow and rub his face loving when she turns around to hiss at him. He is very happy and content in his safe space, which at this point in time is our spare bedroom. He doesn't complain or try to run out. The window is always open and he doesn't scratch the fly screen. On that note, he seems scared to scratch anything, Ive been trying to encourage him to use the scratcher to trim his nails but its like he thinks that he isn't allowed to. He also winces when he gets head pats which is really sad. He will bite if he gets picked up too much or if he is unsure about what's going on but the longer he is with us, the less he is doing that. It seems to be related to new environment nerves. He is also very content on just being in the same room as someone. He loves playing, very much. He'll hide behind a couch or just start rolling around on his back to show he wants to play. He is a very sweet boy who seems very aware of boundaries and wouldn't risk a chance of crossing them.
There is one slightly less desired quirk about this sweetheart... he doesn't bury his poop. This has, however, just encouraged us to clean the litter box regularly which reduces the smell... so everyone wins!
He is a very sweet and energetic boy for his age! He was then adopted but sadly returned as he did not like the dog in the home!
Leo is in Heathride at the moment, let me know if you would like to meet him.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
