About Clay DL2560
Clay is so nice and gentle and loving, you will quickly fall for his sweet nature.
Shy at first, he can take a few days to warm up to new people, he just hangs back until he's comfortable. He likes pats and cuddles, but not for too long, as he’s quite an independent dog.
He's been friendly meeting other dogs on playdates. However, when he is on lead he gets scared and can be reactive; Clay will need ongoing lead training and socialisation practice in a controlled environment to learn how to make new dog friends socially.
Clay was skinny on arrival and could do with some fattening up, so a quality diet will help. He will need to be fed separately from other dogs, or will happily be the only dog and have all the food and pats to himself.
At home, Clay is well behaved indoors and out, and hasn't shown any signs of destruction. He likes a morning work around the block, then is okay to chill outside while you're at work. He sleeps indoors at night and likes to lay next to your bed.
Clay already knows cues like sit, lay down, and paw. We're sure he'd love to learn even more! He does need a lift into the car, so you'll need to give him a hand to get in. He hasn't yet met kids or cats.
Clay's foster mum tells us he is the most loving baby! If you'd love to welcome him into your home, email DFLadoption@gmail.com today to apply.
Medical notes
At 35kg, Clay is a med-lge sized adult dog.
