About Myka
MYKA
Alaskan Malamute x Siberian Husky
Female (D)
Born 28 February 2011
Located : Thirroul, NSW
Having reached my "distinguished" years there's some stories I could write - not only have I seen a million faces but I've lived a couple of lives. (The first person to get that song reference gets a gold star!).
Speaking of gold and stars, that's exactly what you'll be privileged to experience with me in your lief. But yes, although I come to you in good health I also come with a certain reality - I may not be here for a long time, but I can promise you it'll be a good time.
Wonderful with all ages from baby through to the elderly I am a tactile, friendly and gentle girl. Moving forward I am searching for inclusion and re-establishing my position as a true member of the household. All I ask if that you don't try to rub my belly using your feet - no foot fetishes for this girl, they skeeve me.
Our days should consist of daily constitutionals around the neighbourhood. Should you miss a day I won't hold it against you, but there is no better activity in life than exploring all that this wonderful world has on offer. Miss too many and I'm quite the opportunistic, stereotypical escape artist. Your fences should be sturdy and have nothing against them I can use for leverage... oh and you know those level operated gate latches? You will need to put a padlock on them for I'm quite adept at opening them with my footsies. You find this quirk endearing, right? Thought so.
I also tend to bring the laughs. Whilst I'm not destructive per se anything left on kitchen benches will find it's way into my tummy. Speaking of noms personally I'm a fan of fresh lunch, but any cats, pocket pets, poultry, fowl or wild marsupials - a bit hit and miss when it comes to birds - will definitely think otherwise. So let's not set anyone up for failure, TIA.
Quite willing to help you garden my all time record is three husky holes on the go at once. A bit like Goldilocks each hole plays it's part of "just right" for that day.
My entire life has been lived as an only child and my future needs to remain that way. For one who is all about the solo attention I'm quite polite on walks when we come upon other canine friends. Conversely should they start trouble I'm not shy in standing up for myself like any strong women worth their salt. But please do not introduce me to small dogs - although manageable that pesky prey drive tends to kick in.
The one thing I have not been able to deal with in life are those loud booms that come from the sky. I tend to get very agitated and start panting - in such situations all that I ask is to hide under your feet.
When it comes to basic obedience, I come to you with "Sit", "Drop", "Stay", "Leave It" and "Come". You'll need to continue practicing these with me, and also be of the understanding that it's different rules for different people. For e.g. I may "come" for one person, and totally ignore the other. Oh and I'm also a bit of a "rules lawyer" and look for loopholes, depending on who is around at the time 🙂. I like to think I train my humans well.
Ready to never live a life of boredom again? Then I'm most certainly ready to find my happy.
