About Thor ~ 2yr Old German Shepherd (On Trial 20/12/20)
Are you a German Shepherd lover? Meet Thor, a 2 year old German Shepherd who is big and beautiful and loves his people. Typical of the breed, Thor is very loyal and has energy to burn!
Thor is a people dog, he craves human attention. He is mostly an outside dog now, and can get a bit bored, leading him to want to go off exploring. However when he is with his people, for a young dog he is quite calm and happy to chill. For this reason, Thor will need to be allowed inside with his family at all times.
Thor is well-mannered - he has been taught to come when called (though this hasn’t been tested outside the home!), sit, shake hands, and wait to eat his food. He is a big boy so we are looking for a home where all family members are confident with large dogs and confident walking a dog of his size on lead. When out on lead he can be strong and is vocal when he sees other dogs, however this will improve with consistent training.
Thor would love a grassy yard to chase the ball in- balls are life for this boy! Being a big boy who likes to go walkabout, he’ll need tall fencing (at least 6ft) and he is too big for small yards or townhouses. He has a thick coat so he’ll need a family who aren’t concerned about his hair on their furniture. Thor doesn’t like cats - so he will not suit a home with cats, pocket pets or chickens. We are after a home with no children under 16 years old- Thor loves the kids in his family but small kids do things like take his ball and that is not on! No families with small children will be considered. He would suit large breed dog-lovers whose kids are already grown and left the nest too.
Thor has some close dog friends that he has known all his life, but with new dogs he needs a slow introduction. He would be best as a single dog where he gets all the attention. We are looking for a family who is experienced in German shepherd ownership - so please only apply for Thor if you have had shepherds previously.
If you love the German Shepherd breed then you’re going to love this handsome boy.
