It is finally time for our gorgeous boy Samuel to start searching for his perfect forever family. Samuel arrived into our care several months ago as a shelter transfer, so that we could assist with his care and rehoming.
Samuel was in shelter foster care when he was involved in an accident in his carers home. He was found non responsive on the floor and was bleeding from his head and face. After weeks of veterinary care, the shelter asked us to take him on for rehoming. Samuel has permanent brain damage from the incident, and it has also left him with only one eye. His left eye was removed because he had no feeling in it, and he began to self traumatise it.
Our Sammy boy is a very active, playful, and happy boy. He's a little "quirky", but is very high functioning and doesn't need help with any daily activities. He does walk a little bit differently (he runs nearly everywhere), and can hold his head on a bit of a different angle. He also manages to get his food and water all over his face at times and can be a messy eater. Samuel is very smoochy, and is a big lap cat who enjoys snuggles with his humans. He would prefer a home where he isn't going to be carried around, as he likes to get places all on his own. Sammy needs a family who are looking for an active and into everything kinda boy.
Samuel is cat and dog friendly, however he can take a few days to get used to his new feline friends. He doesn't always have the best social interaction skills, and can be a bit full on at times. He would suit a home with another young and active cat or kitten to be his buddy. He really enjoys playing with the other kittens in his foster home.
Like all of our rescue babies, Samuel must go to an INDOOR ONLY HOME. If he has access to an outdoor area, it must be netted and 100% secure as he can be a bit of a bull in a china shop. Samuel would run into trouble unsupervised in a non-secure area.
Please get in touch with is if you would like any more information about our gorgeous boy, or to arrange a meet and greet. 🐾🐾
Medical notes

If you would like to know more information about any of our rescue animals, our rescue group, or to arrange a meet and greet, please email us. Please provide us with your name, email address, contact number, and some information about yourself, and the home you have to offer one of our rescue animals.
Please understand that Gary and the Handicats is run by a Vet Nurse who works 2 jobs and also cares for sick and high needs rescue animals. We strive to get back to you within 24 hours, but during busy kitten seasons their may be a delay. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Please note we do not run on a "first in first served" basis. We screen applicants well before proceeding with adoption. Vet and rental references may be required for certain special needs adoptions.
We receive a large amount of interest in our handraised kittens, and certain special needs animals. Please understand that if you're application isn't successful, this may just be due to the amount of applications we have had for that particular animal, and not because of the home you have to offer. Preference is always given to our past adopters.
