About Tilly ~ Blue Heeler ~ On Trial 20/12/20
Hi I’m Tilly and I’m a friendly Blue Heeler who is approximately 5 years young. I’m a medium sized very affectionate girl with huge ears and a cheeky smile - if you love your Blue Heelers then you are going to adore me.
I love being with people and I’m very attentive once I’ve met you - I’m pretty obedient too. I’m looking for my new family so there’s a few things on my wish-list - if you think you can meet these then you should inquire about me.
Because I love people so much I’m after a home where I’m welcome inside and I can be included in your family routine and outings. I’m pretty active and adventurous so I’d love a walk or jog each day and to join you when you go out doing stuff. I’d love to be able to sleep inside if you’ll have me (although you may need to show me your house rules and boundaries as I’m sleeping outside currently). I’m good with kids of all ages but would be best suited to a home with older teenagers so that you have more time to focus on your number one gal (that’s me!) No little kids thanks as I nip at kids bikes and scooters in typical Heeler style when they are playing in the yard.
I have good basic obedience training and I “sit” and “come” when my family clicks their fingers. “Stay” is a hard one for me though but then I think it’s hard for most dogs! Once I know you I have pretty good recall but I’m a little rusty so you’ll need to spend some time reinforcing my on-lead and recall skills.
I live with my canine buddy Billy and we are good mates. I haven’t met many dogs outside the yard for a while. I would really fit in best in a home where I’m the only dog for now so that you can focus on my positive socialisation with other calm and friendly canines for a while. I’m quite independent but I will play with Billy when he instigates playtime. He seems to be a bit more fascinated with me than I am with him but he does occasionally corrupt me to get up to naughty stuff !
I don’t know what fetch is (you threw it so you go get it!) and I’m not into toys - I do adore food and will eat pretty much anything . To be honest if you offer me treats I will do just about anything so I’ll be a dream for you to do advanced training.
If you work from home then I’d be in heaven as I can hang out near you all day. I should have about 5 foot fencing if you live in the big smoke , but if you are on acreage and spend lots of time with me a house yard with dog-mesh fencing may work as long as I’m not left alone. I’m not a working dog - however if you’re on a hobby farm and want a house dog who could be trained to watch you do all the work then I’ll happily be by your side . I can get a little anxious when I’m bored or alone so I’ll dig to China and catch flies so like most dogs if you spend a lot of time with me I’ll be happiest .
If you’re keen for an attentive and affectionate girl like me then please email Jo on rescuepooch75@gmail.com . I’m located near Wallsend (Newcastle area). You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
