About Alfred
ALFRED HAS WAITED 11 MONTHS: AVAILABLE TO ADOPT
"Feed me, I'm starving. Feed me, I'm starving. Why does this never work? :( I overhear the humans call me "the cat who cried wolf". They never believe me when I say I wasn't fed before. I didn't eat the food, I'm just hiding it in my belly and now I'm STARVING again...
I am a very affectionate boy. I'm a purry lapcat and I love cuddles, I chirp for attention and will constantly head bunt you. I think I would be great with kids but it's not a problem with me if you don't have any!
Ok, I'll tell you my main "bad point". I'm a FOOD THIEF and I'm proud of it. If you leave food out, I will consume it and I will consume it all. Some people even get confused when they see me because they think I'm a PIG and not a CAT. On a serious note, I saw the cat doctor and they said I need to eat C/D Hills food probably for the rest of my life. I particularly enjoy it when my humans watch me eat so I do ask that my humans please observe me consuming my meaty deliciousness at my feeding times (and once again, you'll need to ration my food so I don't set the world record for the world's fattest cat).
Back to the important stuff... My favourite toys and my ideal time to play. I love toys with feathers but I'll happily play with ping pong balls and pretty much anything. Want to be kept up at night? Not a problem! Simply leave my toys out and I'll thrash into walls, mirrors and doors due to my aggressive play style with the toys. Or put them away at night if you want to sleep, I'm happy either way! See, I'm pretty easy-going, at least probably moreso than your ex...
I have previously been in a couple of foster homes and I got along well with a labrador in 1 of them. In 1 home I got along ok with cats but in the other I did not like the other cat at all so I can be very selective with cats and might be best as the only cat in the home.
I do have a funky neck where my fur hasn't properly grown back and my right ear is 20% off (sadly this doesn't reduce the price of my $175 adoption fee but at least they aren't charging by the kilo or I'd be very expensive). I auditioned for a horror movie a while ago when it looked bad but I couldn't make the filming as the lovely vets at AWL NSW did a few surgeries on it to make it better. You'll just need to keep an eye on it and make sure I don't scratch my neck.
One more thing, before I go and hopefully you'll book an appointment to see me before my 1 year anniversary with AWL NSW. I have this thing called FIV which I think is turning people off adopting me. Cats with FIV (14-29% of cats in Australia have it!) can live a long, healthy life just like a cat without FIV. It just means my immune system isn't always that great. It can only spread to other cats (not other animals or people) and it's difficult to spread anyway.
I am 2 years old and to book an appointment to meet me, call the shelter on 8777 4445 or email kempscreek@awlnsw.com.au" - Alfred
