About Levi
Levi is a calm and gentle greyhound with the kindest eyes. He may be a large boy but couldn’t be less intimidating. He’s just a big softy always looking for his next cuddle.
Levi is a bit of a prince. He loves to be pampered, brushed and generally have a fuss made out of him. When he is really relaxed his tongue falls out the side of him mouth, giving him a slightly crazed look – the perfect photo-taking opportunity! He is pretty relaxed but every now and then he will get a burst of energy and zoom around the place, which is a total joy to watch.
Levi dreams of having a big backyard in his new home. He’s not the biggest fan of walks so a big, green space for him to laze about and do his zoomies would be perfect. Car rides are Levi’s weakness, he loves to hang his head out the window with the wind blowing all sorts of strange and interesting smell his way. He may like to live with another large dog he can learn and gain confidence from. He is still a bit nervous around small dogs.
He has thrived during his time in foster care and has adjusted to life as a pet very smoothly. He is toilet-trained, well-mannered and comfortable in a home environment. His biggest challenge is walking up stairs, it takes a lot of coxing to get him to walk up them. A home without stairs might be best.
No cat or small dog applications please.
Levi will need a back yard
No children under 10
We only consider applications who compete our online application.
When this is done we can make contact to discuss adopting a greyhound and potential suitable greys currently in foster care.
Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
