About Hunter
Adoption Fee: $490
Hunter is a really cool dog who's still young and acts like a big puppy, so needs a home who is happy for him to learn and grow in their family: training will be a must for this lovable goofball. He gets on well with other dogs. Hunter is a very active dog and needs daily long walks to help use up his puppy energy. He's a very fast learner and responds well to food based training - he's learnt to shake a paw already from watching the other dog in his foster home. Hunter can be skittish before he gets to know people, but walks are the way to his heart and when you take him on an outing he warms up very quickly. He wants to be your best friend and follow you everywhere, and do all the things you're doing. This boy would make the perfect best mate for active household that has the time to give him the training and love he needs. Lead walking is a work in progress but a routine and consistent training should improve this; we don't think he has had much lead practice up to now! Hunter is house trained but is still young so accidents happen occasionally. He has briefly met young kids and was fine around them although he could potentially knock little ones over unintentially.
Hunter likes to keep mentally and physically busy so does get bored when he's out in the yard without human 'supervision'. If you are very proud of your yard he might not be the best dog for you...! A sandy spot he can call his own, plus lots of enrichment toys or a good bone will be invaluable aids for Hunter for when you go out. A home where someone is home most of the time, especially while he settles in, would be perfect for him. Not cat suitable.
Hunter is the happiest of dogs and he just needs a loving home who will commit to training and guiding him while he is still going through the goofy 'teenage' stage... he will make a great, loyal dog to the right home and can't wait to meet his permanent family.
