About Luda
Luda is a cute girl who we know will be very popular, she needs a specific type of home so please read carefully before enquiring.
We will only be replying to enquiries that match the type of home we've described.
Little Luda is an absolute sweetheart who loves nothing better than having an active adult family with lots going on. She has a few funny quirks that make her even more delightful but do require her humans to make an adjustment or two. With limited socialization outside of the home since puppyhood, she found it hard to meet with new people. Her confidence has grown immensely whilst living with her foster family and she’s now happy to be persuaded to receive pats from pretty much anyone. Continued, patient training with this will be essential.
When Luda is called, she will sometimes only come halfway before turning around and retreating just a little. She isn’t frightened but is still responding based on an old habit. Other times though, she’ll now come all the way without hesitation, and revel in the pats and rubs that follow. Throw another dog into the scenario who is getting pats, and she comes right alongside them *very* quickly, super keen for her share of the loving.
Luda does need a proactive approach to keep her moving forward. I reckon you could wait until kingdom come and she wouldn't move ahead, but if you keep gently stretching her, and creating momentum, she moves with you.
She loves action and it is when she has the most healthy attitude and motivation to do hard things.
Luda was extremely traumatised when she moved from her previous home so we are looking for a patient, understanding home but with people who won't pity her/molicoddle her in the wrong way which will encourage her to continue feeling unsure and won't help her confidence.
Luda is super happy to go on walks, they totally make her day! And once she has chosen someone to be her person, she loves to follow them, everywhere! Whether pottering around the garden, moving around the house, going on car rides or walks, she is happiest being companionable and hanging out together.
Having a desexed, calm, stable male canine companion helps Luda to feel more secure and confident, so she’d really like to have one in her new home even if she does have to share the attention! She is not keen on playing at this stage, so it’s best if her new fur-buddy doesn’t want to either.
Luda is toilet trained, but it will take her awhile to adapt to a new house, and she is likely to have accidents while settling in. A pee pad next to the back door could be a good interim solution whilst she adjusts to her new home and she is also crate trained for overnight. She listens very attentively to her humans
If you can offer Luda a calm, patient, understanding home with another desexed, confident canine companion please email us at pyreneesanimalrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
