On Hold
About Horton
Well, if you haven't noticed yet - my eyes are big and beautiful and will melt your heart so prepare to fall in love.
I am very shy but I am gentle and brave so if I feel uncomfortable I will just let out a little hiss and hope that you will be patient with me.
I am stronger and more nimble than you think, my foster mum was very impressed with my cabinetry skills to get a better view from the window and with all the nifty spots I have managed to jump or climb to.
The most important thing you should know about me is my weakness - behind the ear and under the chin scratches. Ooh baby. I melt like pudding when you get the right spot, I even love to fall asleep in your hand or roll over for a tummy scratch. I am definitely starting to think that humans aren't too bad but I prefer to stick to the corners and hidey holes for now.
My foster mum and dad just come and sit with me whenever they can in the hope I will come out for a cuddle, I don't fight being picked up but I definitely don't love it. I feel safer when they're around. I haven't found my voice yet either, sometimes actions speak louder than words. I am not really sure if I like "Horty"... as a nickname yet either but I think it could be a term of endearment. My foster dad just calls me by Horton, I liked him once. I also think that was a term of endearment.
I'm not sure on the whole taking food out of their hands yet but my bowl is always clean when it comes around ready for breakfast or dinner time.
I hear a lot of other noises like cats and dogs, which doesn't bother me or peak my interest much. I don't mind their smells and my ears are always up to see what is going on however I am comfy on my bed. I have my own room, I think my foster mum went overboard on the décor, it's the simple things for me. Maybe one day I will test out the toys and tunnels.
Not only am I very handsome but I am soft too, and very excited to find a forever home to love, maybe one with more mature and patient people.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
